I was just sitting here talking with my FMIL who is in her 80s and she told me about this wonderful kitchen shower tradition which I just had to share with all of you. You take a couple of dish towels and loosely stitch them together to make a pair of pants. You present them to the bride-to-be who then unties the bow at the top, pull out the stitches and she ends up with two dish towels! There is a great poem that goes with it:
"Now don't get excited, Don't be misled. These aren't for you, but your dishes instead. Just pull on the bow, take out the stitches, You've gained two dishcloths but lost your britches!"
