Just Said Yes June 2021

Cutting up the timelines

Katelyn, on October 3, 2020 at 10:41 AM Posted in Planning 0 4

I'm getting very nervous. I can't get my fiance to settle on a specific date, only a range of dates. He's in the military so I think that he is concerned about picking a date that he then won't be able to make. The wedding is going to be sometime in July 2021. Has anyone had issues finding venues less than 9 months till event date? Is there anything else that I can do in the meantime to get some tasks done while I wait?

With so many 2020 postponements, I’d imagine that venue/vendor availability might be more limited. So deciding on a date sooner than later is best. For now, you could research venues/vendors and check their overall availability in July 2021 to get an idea of what your options are. You can also begin a guest list so that when contacting venues, you know the size you’ll need. Outside of that, I wouldn’t do much more without knowing when and where the wedding is.

Hmmm depends on the venue. Some will be open. Since it is a wedding there is no way he can be sure to get that time off? Sorry I am unfamiliar with weddings.

The most you can do are personal, bride things like dresses, bridesmaids dresses and maybe start getting some gifts for your girls or yourself. It will be hard to plan invitations and wedding day stuff without a date.

Without a venue it is next to possible to plan on wedding. All vendors will need to when and where the wedding will be. Finding a venue with such a short period of time will be difficult especially because a lot of people had to postpone their weddings until next year because of Covid. If you want to get married in July then you will need to find a venue ASAP.

Given the number of rescheduled weddings due to COVID, it may be more difficult than normal to find a venue for 2021. Also, the venue sets the date so its recommended that you don't book any other vendors until you have a date set. You can do some Pinterest planning, but colors and stuff should also fit the venue. I actually had a set of colors in mind, but then we changed the color scheme after we chose the venue because the original color scheme wouldn't really go well with the space. I'm sorry, I don't want to be a downer. There are a lot of military brides on here, so hopefully some of them will be able to share how they've handled things.
