Dance floor props

Almost Mrs. Wifey//(*;*)\\, on June 20, 2013 at 12:14 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 10

I am having fun props by the dance floor for people to use while dancing, inflatable instruments and hats etc. I bought 100 mini 2 inch glow sticks for another project, but didn't end up using them so I am trying to think of a way to incorporate them into my dance floor props. They are so small, I cant even really think of a way to connect them to make necklaces or anything like that. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can use them?

2 inch glowsticks can look really cool in balloons. Other than that I'm out of ideas. Good luck!

Thats actually why I bought them and I didnt like the way the looked! It was just a pink line in a clear balloon. It didnt glow like I expected it to. I cant think of anything else to do with them! They are so small!

Just put them in buckets. People will play with them. Maybe even have them broken and spread around the outside of the dance floor? Just a thought.

I love it! We had a photo booth and all the props got taken to the dancefloor and it was a riot. Hats and glasses are big hits! As for the glowsticks, do they not have a hook on the end? To put a piece of string through? Otherwise I would just have them out and see if they get used!

I just saw something on pinterest that you can do with water and the inside of these glow sticks. Let me see if I can find it for you!

I don't know if this would work, but maybe if you put 3-4 glow sticks in the inflatables they will glow?

@Angelica, I wish that would work, but I don't think it will, you can barely see them through a clear balloon, and all of my inflatables are dark and thick plastic. @Jamie, no hooks. I don't even think you can buy those glow stick connectors small enough. Maybe I can just glue fishingwire or something to them to make necklaces. I bought glowstick party packs also, they give you all the stuff to make bunny ears and glasses and stuff, maybe I can use something from out of there.. Thank you all for the suggestions! Smiley smile

I am having a photo booth also. I have a lot of props for that too but it is on the second floor of my venue. The dance floor is downstairs, I planned on putting dance floor props on a table by the dance floor I wonder if I should make a sign or something.

Almost, I wouldn't use them, especially if you're going to have alcohol. Glow sticks often become projectiles and I'd think it'd be doubly so with such teeny-tiny ones. Blow up guitars, mics, hats and sunglasses make excellent dance floor props.
