Dance for all married couples- Who has been married longest?

I saw this at a wedding I was babysitting at (I wasn't actually a guest, and was only there for about 15 mins to pick up the kids and take them home, so I was glad I saw it). I saw this at a wedding I was babysitting at (I wasn't actually a guest, and was only there for about 15 mins to pick up the kids and take them home, so I was glad I saw it). DJ called all married couples to the dance floor and he called out an amount of time that people had been married, and people had to sit down when their amount of time was passed (been married less than 24 hours, 1 year, 3 years, etc). I would love to do this to show our respects to all three sets of our grandparents who have all been married for 50 years. Anyone ever seen this? Any good songs to choose for this dance? I have no idea what a good song for this would be!

    @liz I was thinking the same thing. It's such a cute idea, but my grandma would be sitting in a chair on the verge on tears I'm sure. She would probably be the "winner " had my grandpa not just passed away. Just for the sake of her feelings, I couldn't do that to her Smiley sad

    Happy Anniversary, Centerpiece!!

    I don't remember what song we used, but we did an anniversary dance. My grandparents "won" and those pictures are some of my favorites.

    ETA: my parents are recently (18 months) divorced. I still did this at my wedding and didn't think twice about it.

    We were going to do this because it would have been both sets of parents, married a month apart,but my dad passed last year, so we are going to skip it.

    We are still on the verge of whether or not to do the anniversary dance, but if we do decide to, we are using Shania Twain's "You're Still the One".

    It's incredibly insensitive to some people. I saw it for the first time this past year. Not even married and thought it was offensive. A lot of guests didn't like it.

    I have always loved it at every wedding. My parents are divorced but honestly so many people have been remarried at this point I don't even think it will matter. I think it is a great way to honor a couple you care about. For instance my grandparents who have been married for 60 years.

    We did this too. Our song was Moonlight Serenade and our most senior anniversary was 61 years!

    Happy Anniversary Centerpiece!!

    @karen he's wonderful!

    I hadn't even thought of it as insensitive until we spoke about it. Both of our mothers are widowed so it literally should have been my first thought but NOPE! He always thinks of everyone else before himself

    We are going to use Still The One by Orleans. I was actually thinking about using it as our first dance, but FH thought it was better as an anniversary dance.

    My florist mentioned it the other day when I told her I didn't want to do a bouquet toss. She called it a "generational dance". You can do this instead of the toss then give the last standing couple the flowers. I think I may do it. She said any slow song will do.

    Some DJs even have the oldest couple or couples (sometimes there is more than one) give marital advice to the new Mr. & Mrs. Super cute idea! Will definitely be doing this at my wedding

    90% of our guests are married so we're doing the anniversary dance and opting out of the garter toss/bouquet toss.
