Dark circles under my eyes have always been a big problem for me. In high school, doctors said it was because I was anemic. But my iron levels have been really good lately and I'm still having this issue. Does anyone else struggle with this, and if so, do you use any products that help? I put on concealer and foundation the other day and it just made it worse like there is even a different texture to my skin under my eyes and the makeup just enhanced the patchiness.

OMG YESSSS. Same problem. The texture under my eyes is weird like dotty not necessarily wrinkles so when I use concealer to hide the darkness, it looks gross.

Maybe talk to a dermatologist or an esthetician. They should know a few tips & tricks. I know the cooling eye masks help if there's any kind of puffiness.

I work in ophthalmology and I also work for an ocluo plastic dr. We see a lot of patients with this issue and we do fillers. They're amazing. You do have to get then re done. But usually they will last 9 to 12 months. We use Restalaine and patients love it

I use a caffeine syrum by The Ordinary google it. It’s like $7. Also make sure you drink a ton of water. Most under eye circles issues have to do with dehydration. Also make sure that you’re using a moisturizer every single day. Concealer and foundation should help you not make it look worse so maybe you don’t know how to apply it which is totally OK go do a make up counter and ask for some help.

I'm sure someone suggested this but use color correction, not just concealer. For blues/purples use yellow to orange tinted coverage (ELF is cheap and a personal favorite but there are lots of brands.) Then concealer and foundation and then maybe a powder highlighter (matte, no shimmer) to brighten the area. 😊

Concealer helps with the color, but the texture isn't really something the concealer can help with. I've been to makeup counters and been shown how to properly apply everything.

Thank you! I'm going to try a color corrector. I'm also going to look into a primer to see if it helps with the texture of the skin.

Me too girl! I’ve tried all the color correctors at Sephora and they’re ok when paired with a good concealer (Shape Tape by Tarte or NARS Creamy Concealer) but if you REALLY want a fix, you can get eye trough fillers at the dermatologist. It’ll last you a few months to a year.

This is where concealer gets weird.

In order to hide purple you need to use a yellow concealer. You make a series of dots in the area and blend. Then apply foundation and blend.

If it's red like you get sunburned before your wedding day. Green is the cover up concealer.

The best ones look like lipstick but not.

I have dark circles but mine are because of lack of sleep.... There is a cute little girl who needs me.

You're welcome! Good primer can do wonders! I have horribly large pores and need primer for those!

I'm really sick of this. I think I've had them forever but they never bothered me before. I guess they've gotten worse over the years too. What's really bothering me is that the left eye is worse than the right. What is that about? Is there something I can put there to help it? I don't (won't) wear makeup either so I just really need to find a way to brighten up the area under my eyes. Does anyone know what the major causes of this are? Thanks for any help.

I 100% recommend trying this "DermalMD Under eye circles Serum" before buying an eye cream no matter how superior you think a cream would be for your skin type.
Originally, I purchased an eye cream that was a cream for the dry skin under my eyes. [I am 33 and have a dry skin type.] With my dry skin, I am predisposed to thinking thick creams are always the answer for dry skin.
After a few weeks with the other eye cream, my skin wasn't getting back to normal. At first, I had not even considered buying this product because I thought an eye serum couldn't possibly be as moisturizing as a cream. However, after reading some articles online with reviews, I decided that it couldn't hurt to try this.

Make sure you prime and moisturize this area well. Applying too heavy concealer will result in in caking.

I would recommend priming/moisturizing, using a color corrector (orange/peach will help neutralize the blue/purple tones), and then using a light concealer and setting powder.

Using an eye mask beforehand can also help plump and brightening this area. I tried Yes to Cucumber patches which you can buy a single set of at Target and found them to work well.

I don't get a lot of sleep Just bcoz of mom problems.. and you can tell. My under eyes are puffy and dark. About a week into using under eye treatment of dermalmd morning and night, I noticed that I actually looked more human than zombie. It's amazing. Whenever I get lax and don't use this for a while I notice the darkness sneaking back, so I just go back to AM/PM and a few days later, I look like I've gotten sleep again.
