Date on reception favors

Kristy, on June 11, 2017 at 10:08 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 10

We are eloping and having a large reception the next weekend for family and friends. I am looking at different favors and many of them would have a date on them. Do I use our wedding date or the reception date?

Honestly, most people probably won't want a favor with your wedding date on it. We decided to skip favors. Most guests really only want a favor if it is edible.

Our reception is on a different date than the ceremony and we have the reception date on our favors

I wasn't going to do favors but we are having a bit of an informal event with beer in huge tubs of ice and my thought is to have koozies for everyone to use. I figured if I was going to have them I might as well personalize them.

I really don't think it matters. These are extra things, so use whichever date you feel like.

I think you should use the date on your marriage certificate. Moms, aunts and grandmas usually add that date to their "lists" for future gifts/cards on anniversaries.

If you're doing koozies, I'd put your actually wedding date on them since that's your anniversary. If someone wants to wish you a happy first anniversary next year, then they'll have the correct date!

Also, welcome and thanks for adding an avatar!

Thanks, everyone! It's so nice to have people to bounce things off of. My fiancé is the "hands off" type. He just says "whatever I want", so frustrating at times!

I'm all for skipping the favors...but we've all got that one aunt that would hold on to your personalized chocolate bar in their freezer forever (or my mom....). If you go for it, I like the wedding date, it seems like the more significant date.

Honestly, I would go without favors. If you must do them, leave the date off. No one needs a favor with someones name and wedding date on it.

You may find that many of the Koozies will be left behind. I would leave mine as I would never use it..I do not drink anything out of cans.
