How many times did y'all change your date? I'm having a hard time choosing a date.

For many brides, the availability of the venue dictates the date. Once you are locked into a venue, most brides don't change the date because then they lose deposits, etc. Covid brides unfortunately had to change dates multiple times against their will due to lockdowns/restrictions ...

I changed my date once because of COVID and the restrictions that they had. Normally you keep the date that you locked in with your venue.

I changed once because my husband realized we would have had the same anniversary as one of his best friends and thought it was weird lol. So we moved a week. But our venue's availability really dictated our date options.

We changed our date once. The first date was in June of next year but once we decided to have a destination wedding we made it the day we officially started dating which is May 25. So that's when we are getting married next year Smiley smile

We changed our date once, and that was because of COVID. It's totally fine to consider multiple dates, though once you reserve a venue and/or book vendors, you typically cannot change the date after that without potentially losing your deposits. Once you decide on a date, be sure that it's the date you want before paying deposits for anything. I would also wait to tell people about your date until you have it locked in with the venue, just in case.

If you're having trouble deciding on a date, consider whether you want a date that's part of your relationship story (maybe your dating/engagement anniversary?), or if there's a particular season that you want to host your wedding during. Also consider what day of the week you want your wedding to be on. For me and my husband, our wedding had to be during the summer due to my husband's job, so when checking what dates the venue had open in that time frame, that helped narrow down our options. If you have a particular venue in mind, find out what dates they have available during the season you want your wedding in, and use that information to help you decide on what date is best for you.

We changed once, but only because of COVID.

When we sat down to pick a date, we started by figuring out what season would work best. In our area, summer can be unbearably hot, a lot of my family is from an area where winter can be really bad and could have impacted travel ability, and pollen is usually really bad here in the spring, so we decided fall would be our best bet. When considering the weather, time change, etc., we felt October would be the best fall month, so we asked our church and reception venue what dates they had available. The first time around we had a few options, so we asked our VIPs (parents, people we knew we wanted in the bridal party, etc.) if they had any major conflicts on the available dates. The second time, there was only one date that worked for both the church and reception venue, so that made the decision for us.
