I would like some outside advice. when he proposed he originally said for us to get married next year in 2020. I panicked and became overwhelmed instantly and said no 2021. But my factors will include that I'm actually having hip surgery November of this year and I wanted to heal before a June wedding of the following year. I know it only take me three months to heal but then I thought I would be overwhelmed with the running around of dress fittings and trying to have a June wedding. My mind is all over the place. 😪😭😭

It sounds like you had sound reasoning for choosing the year you did. I planned my ceremony in 6 months but I have been so overwhelmed and stressed that part of me wishes we had more time to stretch it out. Trust your instincts.Smiley smile

Great and then ugh on your stress. Yes my wedding planner was saying the same thing that you could plan a wedding actually 6 to 8 months or less. And everytime I tell someone the date even strangers they're like why so far away. And even though I have time, I get overwhelmed every time I start to do something for the wedding so you might be right I may just leave it for 20 21 to give me more time to plan and not be overwhelmed even though I know I'm going to be overwhelmed regardless

I know how you feel mines in 2021 and I basically have almost everything planned out and ready to go. Now just paying everyone but it's less stressful but I'm like you I worry anyway. He wanted next year I said no because I like everything right when i plan things. He very flamboyant so that gives me time to get everything I really want with no substitute. My wedding planner is great & patient

Oh wow thanks we sound so similar..... my fiance is flamboyant as well but then he'll turn around and say do whatever you want. me on the other hand it's sort of an introvert but when I step out I like to step out and command attention. Okay okay I'm going to calm down get my nerves together and leave it for 2021 but I'm going to move it up to April instead of June 😆. Yes, it will give us more time to get everyone paid as well and more financial freedom for that honeymoon

Aww, I hope everything workout. It’s okay to change your wedding date. You have to be happy and comfortable with your decision, it’s about you that day. I’m from Louisiana, so I know what kind of weather you get in Florida and sometimes it can be a pain. I know about hurricane season and all of that plays a big part as well. Planning a wedding is stressful all together and overwhelming. I will be praying for y’all and wish you both the best.

I think it also makes sense to give yourself more adequate time to plan

Look at it this way! 2020 is literally right around the corner meaning 2021 is close behind! Your wedding date will be here before you know it! In the mean time; enjoy being engaged !

We're only having a ten month engagement, and at almost 7 months out I've got nearly everything booked. Now it's just playing the waiting game until time for details and pre-wedding events. If you want to have it in 2020, I say go for it! My sister planned her wedding in about six months I believe.

We got engaged at the end of 2018 and I picked the date September 16, 2020. The great thing about long engagements is you can at first get ideas then put it a way for a month. And so on especially when you get stressed out. It's the only thing helping me cope with the stress at least
