Dated ceremony/reception items

Liz, on February 8, 2021 at 1:42 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

Our current date is 8/14/21 which is just over 6 months out. About 50% of the guest list is from out of town, primarily out of the country from Canada. If COVID isn't much better by then, and the northern border is still closed, we are planning to postpone to make sure the people important to us can attend safely. However, there are items that we want; decorations, signs etc. that will be dated with the wedding date. Knowing that there's a chance of us postponing the wedding. How late can we order these items to ensure they arrive before the wedding date?

Depends where you order from. All of my signs and things with dates on them were ordered on Etsy and everything came in 3 weeks max. Most places offer rush shipping if you need to wait until the last month or two as well. The only con is you can't order new items if you get something and realize you don't like it.

I waited until 2 months before the wedding to order all our signs and they came in max 1 month. This will all depend on where you’re ordering from though but most retailers can give you estimated times before you order

We purchased all of our wedding decor with dates like the cake cutter server toasting flutes cocktail napkins and had to postpone our wedding we decided to keep them with the original date on them rather than buying all new. The expense to replace them was exorbitant in our opinion for something we’re going to use once and probably put away for the rest of our lives. Plus everyone knows the story of why we had to postpone due to governor mandates. So I’m sure they won’t care either way.
