David’s Bridal Bridesmaid Dress Color

Sue E, on January 13, 2019 at 12:52 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10
Hey all!

So I have 4 bridesmaids/MOH in 4 different states. They all chose a bridesmaid dress at David’s Bridal a few months ago when they were all together. We’re all doing the “Apple” red color. I was in DB this week and my consultant mentioned that I should order all the dresses from the same store at the same time so that they’re made from the same cut of fabric and ensure they’re all the same color. I think she was just trying to get my sale... I was planning on having all of my bridesmaids go to their separate DB’s in their states or order online when they’re ready. Has anyone else done this? Did the colors match?

Mine did this because they live in different cities. They ordered the dresses at different times and different stores. I haven't seen if they match exactly yet, but I have a feeling that even if they don't, it will be close enough that it won't matter.

Just because you order the dress at the same time, location doesn’t mean it is the same bolt of fabric.... just sayin...

Order when and where it feels right for everyone....

This is a fantastic question. I’m doing the same thing. I have 5 bridesmaids and a MOH. Everyone is in a different state (my MOH and a bridesmaid is in my hometown and same city as the wedding) and everyone else is scattered across USA. I sent them a fabric swatch of what it envisioning and essentially told them to match. They don’t have to use DB if they don’t want.

I dont think the color will vary that much from dress to dress ordered at the same time vs different times and stores. Do what makes you comfortable and happy.

There might be slight changes to color because the fabric may come from different dye lots if they are ordered at very different times. Just how fabrics work. Usually the changes are fairly imperceptible, especially with garments that are all one color. It just depends on how much fabric they produce from each dye lot. But I wouldn’t worry. I’ve been in four DB weddings and we all bought our dresses at different times and in different states (does anyone have all their BMs in one place? Haha) and there were no noticeable differences in color.

I don’t think that even matters! Some of the dresses have longer times to come in. When my bridesmaids ordered their dresses, one dress came in 8 weeks and one dress came in 12 weeks even though they were ordered on the same day and store. I guess the size/style can all play a difference. It should be close, I wouldn’t worry!

All the David's bridal color schemes are the same. It doesnt matter whst state... it's universal. Don't let her play you. My Mms are in different states too.. we aren't having any problems!

You will be fine as long as you have the style number and the color name for David's Bridal. One problem that you may run into is getting the dresses on time the dresses are made to order at it takes like 4 mouths at minimum. Experical if it's a marked down dress.

I specifically asked DB this question and she said it doesn't matter, they will be the same color no matter where or when they order
