Davids bridal dyeables...

Kate, on May 1, 2012 at 1:42 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 12

I went to look at some shoes saturday and found a pair of dyeables i liked. I asked about them and she said they take 6-8 weeks to come, and another 3 for dying... Uhhh, i only have 69 days, so wth!? I looked them up online, ahipping is from anywhere from overnight to 12 days..l then you take them to the store to hve them sent out for dying.

Why would it take so long at the atore? Then again, they told me may 1 for my dress and ive had it in hand for 3 weeks so far, and my MOH dress they told her june 12 and she has it already, so maybe theyre just high balling? But dont know if i can risk it. But if i get them online, thats an extra shipping charge... Hmm, idk !

Has anyone ever ordered dyeables from DB?

I found a pair I like too. Wow that is a long time. And the shipping on the site is not cheap!

Im going through this same issue but with my BM dresses! I heard they like to over exaggerate the delivery dates. One of my BM ordered her dress yesterday and got a delivery date of June 24th and today another one purchased her dress and got a delivery date of July 4th! All within 1 day of ordering. I think its just crazy!

Melissa...I ordered my sister's dress in March and was told it would come by May 15...it came in around April 15...so don't stress too much about that!

Kate do the shoes you want have to be dyed or can you purchase them in the color from the DB website? One of my BM's got a pair of dyable shoes but when we ordered them online they also gave the option for the shoe to come in Watermelon, like she needed.

They over-exaggerate their delivery dates because they want you to think you need to order them now. Every bridal shop does it. It's a way to boost sales. (And probably to keep some people from procrastinating until the eleventh hour). I had one lady at a bridal show tell me in January, that I needed to come in right away to look for a dress because I was cutting it close - even though I reiterated 3 TIMES that the wedding was May of 2013.

I got my dress at Davids and they told me the arrival date would be July. They called me last week, it's already in - and I order it Easter weekend.

I really don't think your shoes are going to take that long, but if you really want them, I wouldn't take any chances. I would order them off the website to make sure they get to you in time.

I think they over-exaggerate. However, I have ordered two pair of dyable shoes from David's Bridal in the past and I can say that they took longer than the dress to come in. Also, I don't know if your wedding is outdoors, but the color on the shoes will bleed if it gets wet. I was in an outdoor wedding last May and my feet ending up being green from my shoes. I ended up having to toss them because they looked so bad after the wedding. Just a heads up.

Why don't you do a silver shoe instead? It goes with everything and this way girls are'nt wasting money on shoes they'll never wear.

I would be very cautious about having shoes dyed at David's Bridal. I was a bridesmaid in my cousin's wedding and her dresses were truffle brown. We bought dyeable shoes from there and had them dye them truffle brown and when we picked them up they were orange! Thankfully we were able to get a refund with no problem!

Try bridalshoes.com. Usually the dyeables are in stock, and the dyeing process only takes 3 days. It's $14 to dye, plus the cost of whatever shoe you buy.

I know what you mean! the other day i went in there and needed 2 flower girl sashes to match my bm dresses and they didnt have them in regency so they said they had to order them... well then she tells me "oh they should be in around middle of july" i thought "really?? almost 3 freakin months for a sash??" its crazy. i can see them having to order dresses with all the different sizes and colors, but a simple sash that takes up 1 inch on a shelf, they should have in store in every single color... but then again they told me end of june for my shoes and i picked them up saturday.
