David's Bridal Fit and Flare Slip?

Macie, on September 28, 2014 at 10:12 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 16

Hey Ladies!

So my wedding is coming up in about 3 weeks. (AH! I know!!) I've already got my gown and undergarments, shoes, etc. I'm suddenly having second thoughts about the slip that I DIDN'T purchase. I had tried it on with the dress before I bought the dress. Now, I can sort of tell that the dress does not have the same amount of "poofy-ness) you could say, to it. My dress is a fit and flare, so it does flare out at the bottom with a good amount of fabric. Did any of you buy a slip to go under your dress?? Any recent brides out there that would want to sell me theirs? I'm having a hard time paying $50 for something that I will literally only wear once, and it probably isn't even needed. Opinions? Thanks!

I know when my sister got married two years ago she had one and without it her dress wasn't her dress. But she actually has it saved in the box her dress is saved in, as a memory.

But truthfully depending on your dress, you may or may not need it. But if you're second guessing it and it doesn't have the right amount of poof... I would throw in that extra $50 to get it to make sure you're happy with your dress when your day comes

I bought the A-line slip from DB. I like the extra poof it gives my dress Smiley smile I found mine on ebay for $30 so I didn't have to pay full price.

Get the slip!!! I almost didn't; however I am glad I did because I went to a wedding a few weeks ago and the bride had a dress very similar to mine. I could tell she didn't have a slip on underneath because it didn't flare out at all! This is one investment you will need to give in to.

It'll help the dress not stick between your legs when you walk too. I bought mine on ebay, sane slip.for $20.

I have one and I decided not to use it. The layers under my dress help the dress to not stick to my legs and I get too hot with it. What size are you looking for?

I was having the same sticker shock when I went to DB. I looked and found a bunch of options on eBay, Amazon and even on our own WW bride to bride page. I'd say look around before you decide to pay the DB price.

I have the DB bridal fit in flare in a 10, we took it in just a little so it fits closer to an 8 and added fabric on the bottom to make the poofing more dramatic but its yours if you want it Smiley smile Where are you located?

SunshineJenn on here is looking to sell hers. She's at work in a meeting right now, but says it's a size 14 but fits small so would fit a size 10 - 12, if you're interested!

I actually just gave in and purchased mine from DB. I really needed a 12 and I couldn't find it anywhere else for cheaper! But thank you guys. I feel sort of relieved now knowing it's on it's way to me!
