Day 1 of INSANITY complete! :)

Amanda, on July 13, 2015 at 11:18 AM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 23

I am starting insanity this week! Eeek! Finished the fitness test, gave er my all, and, didn't die (or feel that awful) I've been building up to this program for months now!

When we were first engaged over this past Christmas, I weighed 197 lbs at 5"4! I mentioned to some fairly fit friends that I wanted to do insanity and they laughed at me! (The ba$tards! lol) They encouraged me to look into it first as it's extreme. I conceded that yes, it was a bad idea to start with it. BUT - I swore I'd do it before the wedding!

Today, I'm at 162lbs. I've been working out hard 5-6 days per week doing hiit workouts! I'm soooo ready for the insanity pain to begin!

I'm a bit late starting so I won't be able to complete the entire program before the wedding date. But I will get a good 54 days in out of 60, and that's not too shabby!

How many ww brides have completed this program? What were your results like? Will I die tomorrow?! Haha!

I did Insanity 2 years ago! I think I lost around 15 pounds in the 60 days and I got so so strong! Good luck!

Well...if you're getting married the day after me and doing it, i might as well start too! I've had it sitting in my DVD player for months but after FH was injured and had surgery I couldn't find the time/motivation to do it..But I'll start this afternoon!

I did Insanity twice in college, it was awesome. There were definite visible results and it helped me maintain a workout schedule. You will probably be very, very sore the first week but keep doing it no matter what! The best way to combat the soreness is to keep working out. It sounds like you're doing awesome, keep it up!

I did Insanity 2 years ago and I loved it, but... I did get injured a bit. Smiley smile My hip and ankle have never been the same, but I got really good results and it really got me into working out harder. I do CrossFit now because I needed someone there to help me with my form. As long as you have good form and don't get sloppy when you get tired (like I did!), I think you will love it! I saw most of my results in the first 6 weeks, so you have plenty of time to get results before your wedding. Good luck!

Congrats on your weight loss! I have a friend who did insanity and really threw her back out to the point of not being able to move and needed physical therapy so it scared me from doing it. Love your positive attitude though!

Your progress so far is amazing! Congrats. I didn't do the insanity program, but I used to do it a few times a week with a group and I loved it. You will get sore bc it's alot and your body won't be used to it but it will get there. have fun!

Good for you, girl! My FH and I started the program. But we have not done it all summer. I just wish Shawn T had some normal people on there! We substitute a lot of the moves with jumping Jacks and push ups. ? keep it up!

I've done insanity 3 times but never completed. The furthest I have gotten is about day 45. I can't totally see a difference. I just hated the really long ones. I'm goo with 1 hours tops. But its awesome! Keep up the good work. Its definitely worth it.

Thanks everyone! You're all so sweet! I have set a goal of 10 lbs but really don't care what I lose! I hit my goal weight at 165 so everything else is just gravy! It's more about principle now! @Laura Marie - I hope you do start! We can do it togetherish! lol The fitness test wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I will surely be super careful not to get sloppy! I'm sorry @futurerice0821! Thanks for the advice! I wouldn't want to injur myself right before my wedding especially!

Haha I'd probably do the same if I wasn't focused on finding a venue! Thanks!
