Day After Wedding, Day Before Honeymoon

Marissa, on May 7, 2017 at 9:07 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 13

We are getting married on a Saturday, leaving for our honeymoon Monday morning. What are some MUST DO's on Sunday between the wedding and honeymoon? This is my to-do list so far. Am I missing anything important??

- pick up reception items

- make copies of marriage license

- freeze the cake!

- pack for honeymoon

- check in for flights

- charge devices

Friday wedding at a hotel. I think we are skipping the gift opening on Sat & will just do this solo?!?

    * We will have breakfast with any guests that stayed at the hotel (where we will be).

    * Unload the truck of décor/attire.

    * Return FH's tux rental

    * Hang with FILs (will probably be watching our dog at our condo) & FH's OOS friend for about an hour.

    * Grab out pre-packed honeymoon bag & drive 4 hours to Chicago, sleep & then we leave 5am on Sunday

Enjoy your first day as a married couple!

Our plan after a late check out of the hotel is

Return tux, pack for honeymoon, go to the bank, watch football (even though my team isn't playing) take out all the trash and go to bed early for our trip. We are not seeing any family, just hanging the 2 of us.

You should probably pack for the honeymoon before the wedding. This is totally doable and will alleviate stress. Also, this checklist should only include essentials after the fuss of the wedding the #1 thing to do is relax, return rentals (unless a family volunteers), and go to the bank to deposit cash gifts and/or withdraw money for honeymoon. Just enjoy being married.

I definitely plan to pack before the wedding as much as I can! And also try to relax the day after :-) Just making sure I wasn't missing anything major that you're supposed to do right away.

I don't think it's realistic to make copies of your marriage license the day after your wedding. Especially since it's a Sunday-- no government office is going to be open.

Thanks! I only plan to photocopy the marriage license the next day. Our travel agent said I should bring it with us on our honeymoon to prove to the resort that we qualify for the honeymoon package.

Marissa L.- that's a good idea to make a photocopy of the marriage license to take with you. We got a honeymoon package & it requires too show proof but we were thinking how are we going to do that right away.

I would also add put a mail hold on your house for the post office. In case you get any late wedding presents

Don't forget to cash checks (or sign them if giving them to a family member to do) I did this for my fail (first) wedding and I think my grandmother forged my signature lol.

No really, relax! enjoy being married and getting time before you leave for your honeymoon.

Ours is a beach wedding. We will be spending quality time with the family on the beach. I am super excited.

Yes, add open cards/ make deposits. (Most banks where I live are open sundays with limited hours) Not only do you not want any cash laying around your house, you can deposit any checks and they'll clear by the time you're back.

I plan to have our suitcases packed by Wednesday since we head down to my parents for last minute wedding stuff on Thursday (they live in the same city as our wedding). We have to go to the venue on Sunday to pack everything up and do some last minute cleaning, once that is done we will probably head home to make sure we have everything in line to fly out early Monday morning (6 AM), open up cards/deposit checks, and relax. Like you, I also have to remember to photocopy our marriage license so we get our honeymoon benefits at the resort.

I am hoping to relax as much as possible and maybe get to bed early since we have to be at the airport around 4 AM on Monday.

We slept in, ordered room service, drove home and relaxed. I packed for the honeymoon before the wedding and my husband packed that day. We just enjoyed being married before the big trip.
