So I’m going back and forth on this. I don’t need a planner and even a coordinator feels unnecessary. But I have a lot of DIY that I’ll need help setting up and the event venue only does so much. Can you share why you hired a DOC? If you did or are planning on it... Does your event have a...

Can you share why you hired a DOC?
If you did or are planning on it...
Does your event have a coordinator leading up to the event and an event manager day of or dedicated bridal assistant?

I haven't booked my venue yet, but all the ones I'm looking into have a day of coordinator. I love this because one, I don't have to worry about organizing, two I have enough to coordinate that day, three if something goes wrong I'm not the first one notified. AlsoI live at least an hr away from all the venues I'm looking at and don't want to worry about set up.

We have a day of coordinator with our venue but honestly not sure what they are supposed to do the day of for us. I would suggest one so you can focus on your day and not all the set up!!

You need a DoC unless you want to be worrying about tipping vendors, making sure the schedule stays on track, and putting out fires.

I had a 9 guest covid wedding in the backyard. We managed to do most of our decor the night before, and we had a LOT of help from my family, but it was still super hectic. Between my husband and me, we were both so busy entertaining everyone, moving things along, and being the center of attention that we were barely able to take 5 minutes to order dinner on DoorDash.

I'm also planning on doing a lot of DIY. My venue does have a coordinator and bridal attendant.

I still hired a day of coordinator because a friend's mom reminded me that the people that work for the venue will always have the venue's interests in mind moreso than your own.
And it will help reduce my stress the day of.

I dont have a wedding planner but I will have a DOC! My venue offers an event coordinator but I have a trusted friend who will be my DOC to make sure everything is to my liking.

I also agree that a DOC is a must have!! They'll be the ones that make sure everything runs smoothly on your wedding day. All you have to do is enjoy it without any interruptions from vendors, the venue, guests etc. Your DOC will handle all of that so your day goes by without any extra stress put on you!
