Day of Coordinator

Rachel, on March 16, 2020 at 7:53 AM Posted in Planning 0 9
My wedding is September 26, SIX MONTHS AWAY!! I’ve been on the fence about getting a DOC because I just want everything to be run smoothly because I myself can’t do that obviously. I don’t really have anyone I could appoint for the job throughout the day nor do I want to put that kind of pressure on my bridal party or a family member. I’ve found rates are around $600 which will throw us at the top of our budget.. is it worth it?

If it's in your budget, I would absolutely hire one.

I’d do it! We hired a family friend- that has planned parties in the past- to be our DOC and also to help with the planning/decorating of the wedding. She’s taken a lot of weight off my shoulders. She’s helped us find vendors and just knowing that on the day of the wedding I won’t have to worry about anything, takes off a lot of stress. She’s charging us $700. I think we’re a bit over budget, but she’s worth it!

$600 is very affordable for a DOC and, in my opinion, well worth it.

Yes, yes and yes!! You should get one!! They are worth the money. You don't wanna worry about the little things the day of and just focus on you and your FH. We got one and he has been more than helpful. My venue manager was being a pain and made me cry and decided to have no more contact with him and only go through my coordinator. So worth it and I cant steess this enough. If anything get one for yourself to save you the time and headache.

I struggled with the same decision for months and we finally stopped procastinating and hired a DOC a week ago. After she explained what all she'd be doing I was relieved and thankful that we hired her. Ours is $500.

That’s a good price too! We are getting once just so none of my family has to do anything. So far she has been so reassuring that everything will be handled. I think that’s it’s worth it, I’m already less stressed knowing that someone else who does this for a living will be taking care of everything.

$600 is pretty typical for a DOC and I highly recommend it. You're right in that you won't be able to manage everything yourself and tbh asking a friend or family member to do it (when the going rate for hired professionals is $600) will cause them incredible stress--they should just be a guest enjoying your wedding. Super super worth it to hire a DOC!
