Day of coordinator

I have one! I'm working with a company that's a bit of a "jack of all trades". I initially hired her as my florist but quickly realized we needed more coordination help as the guest list grew. It's super convenient because as the florist, she'll be there before the event setting up and decorating anyways. She requested to join the rehearsal dinner as well to get a better feel for the property, flow, and meet the bridal party/family! There are 3 employees that will accept all of the vendors, oversee coordination during the event, and clean up after! This is super nice for us because my future in laws are hosting about 75 in the back yard so there is no included staff to help out bussing tables or picking up trash.

We had one and I honestly have no idea how our wedding would have been possible without her and her team. Our day was busy from start to finish and there’s no way we could’ve decorated our entire venue, nor did we want to stay to break down and clean up all night either.

We had one and it was one of the best decision we made. She decorated the venue, made sure the whole day ran smoothly, and the best part was that she cleaned up everything and put all our decor in our hotel room

I finally hired one, I have yet to work with them, but just talking with her has put my mind at ease just knowing that they will be there to coordinate with vendors and help prepare, set up and direct guests.

We had one! It was honestly a life saver and took so much stress off of us. Her and her team took care of set up, break down, she was the point of contact for all of our vendors, she timed the ceremony, and I am sure she did many other things I am not even aware of. In my opinion, a DOC is an absolute must!

Definitely! We had our minimony and did mostly everything ourselves and had to tear down and I just don’t want to deal with that again.

I used one ONLY for setting up my reception area and i was so glad i did that because it gave me peace of mind

I would definitely suggest having one! Our venue coordinator is also our DoC and his team is handling the venue side of things while he's handling the overall coordination (not just stuff related to the venue). I've been the DoC for friends before and have also been a guest at weddings that didn't have one at all. Those that didn't have one were fairly helter-skelter, and for a couple of them I basically just became the DoC while I was there because the couple were good friends and I hated seeing all the stress they were under just trying to pull the day off. Having a DoC is definitely worth it!

I plan on having a wedding coordinator (well, with the venue I am booking with is called a host) for our microwedding. I am glad that there will be one because they will take care of everything to ensure that it will run smoothly. I also wanted to make sure I had this option because I wanted to make sure that everyone (including myself) don't have to take care of anything so we can all enjoy the moment.

I have a co worker who is helping me out she came to me and asked to help I never knew that she is a event planner to so I did luck out big time free of charge. I owe her big time and I will be giving her a nice gift and my daughter is going to school for events and wedding planning courses so she has some skills already has decorating people's parties before. Because I don't want to have to worry about nothing I also will be a ball of nerves too. So yes if you can get help great having someone else help you means alot

My biggest regret from my wedding is not having a DOC. I was set on having one until my venue talked me out of it, saying they had a coordinator who acted as a DOC and anyone I hired would be a duplicate effort. False. She was awful and my photographer basically had to step in and be the DOC. I so so wish I stuck with my gut. Do it, OP!!
