Day of Present for the Groom / Bridal Party

Marissa, on August 3, 2021 at 2:28 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

I am a little lost when it comes to this. I think that we (mainly me) are going to make the bridal party like a little day of emergency kit, and the groomsmen are going to have their socks and their ties/bowties in theirs that way they can't forget them. Do I do the same for the groom? Obviously his wouldn't be the exact same, but he already has the watch he wanted, and he doesn't need a new wallet.

Stuff related to the wedding is not a gift for anyone. An emergency kit for the wedding will not be used again, robes and jewelry will not be worn again. Make a big emergency basket that everyone can use as they need. Set it up in the bathroom for guests to utilize as well. Will be easier on your wallet too.

Outside of Pinterest and wedding videography sites, it is not that common in real life to give gifts other than rings/vows/honeymoon to your future spouse.

I agree with Michelle. I wouldn't do an emergency kit for everyone. Just have one big one with everything you could possibly think of and if someone needs it then it's there for them. If you want gift ideas for the bridal party I would do something they can actually use after the wedding, not just for the wedding. Such as wine, spa day basket with face masks and nail polish, gift card, something they could wear after the wedding (not something with bridesmaid or groomsman on it).

My goal is to make them something personal, but not related to the wedding completely. Nothing with our date on it or those details

I read on here someone who gave him a pair of socks with a note "in case you get cold feet" and I am doing that!

I wanted something fun for my groom to open before we walk down the aisle so I got him something cute from Etsy as well. It came with the card and socks that say “no cold feet please. These socks must do for now, I will warm you up tonight” & a hanky that says “for your happy tears. I can’t wait to marry you.” With our date on it. I think a few keepsakes are a sweet touch right before your big moment. Smiley smile

I'm getting my groom custom made cuff links off of etsy. One has our dating anniversary and one our wedding date.

We're not having a wedding party this time, but I gave my 8 bridesmaids Coach Wristlets last time. I don't think he gave his guys anything. I gave my ex-husband a pair of sneakers as a gift that day.

My fiance is nasty ( in a good way that I'm not complaining about), so he's getting boudoir photos as his wedding day gift. He's been begging me to take some and I haven't been comfortable enough with my weight to do it... but since I'm losing weight for the wedding anyway I'm finally going to.

I really want to do a boudoir shoot for him, but obviously I don’t want him open that in front of everyone

My husband lives and breathes for his favorite hockey team (he even had their logo on the lining of his custom wedding suit), so I got him a pair of cufflinks made from a game used hockey puck. He loves them!

He got his groomsmen more personal gifts that spoke to their individual interests, but we also gave them these little wood boxes that my dad helped me make that we tucked their ties, tie clips, and pocket squares tucked into.

Well, I have to say I agree. Does this sentiment apply to the bridal party gifts also? Maybe I misunderstood. Thanks. Asking for a friend. 😂

No. The bridesmaids and groomsmen should get a thank you gift for taking time and money out of their lives to support you. Something not related to the wedding but that fits their individual interests like shopping for their birthday, instead of proposal boxes or other wedding day props.
