Day of Wedding coordinator

I have booked a day-of coordinator and I have already relaxed knowing that the day of any issues that arise will not need to be handled by me(and I still have a year to go! .) I was originally against the idea of hiring one due to the extra money we'd have to put towards it. But my mother and I have been working really hard on putting together everything, and now knowing a team of 2 coordinators will be there the day of to make sure all vendors arrive on time, groomsman are dressed and ready in a timely manor, procession is organized and any other issues that arise will be addressed by them is a huge relief. Now my mom will be able to sit and enjoy getting ready with me and not stressing over final details. And surprisingly after looking around at different event planning companies, the price for a day of was not bad at all! Cheaper than most other things I have planned for the day. I would definely recommend looking into getting one!

I was the day of coordinator and a guest for my friend's wedding a month and a half ago. It is tricky trying to balance the fun of being a guest with the duties of coordinating, but the bride is a very good friend of mine, and I wanted to help them bring their vision to life. She did give me a bunch of stuff the night before to do, so I was running on not very much sleep, but I'm still glad I did it! There's a good chunk of the reception post-dances/cake cutting/etc, where your coordinator will still get to fully enjoy being a guest.

I would talk with your friend and see how they feel about pulling double duty. They might be thrilled to be such a big part of your day! The couple did pay me, but $500+ less than they would have for an outside vendor. We talked about price upfront when we discussed how much I would be involved prior to day of, as well as each of our expectations for the day.

I was thinking the same thing ...and I decided to get one. I thought about all the things that I have to do and worry about before and on that day. I spoke with her and she's a godsend, it's so helpful.
