Day time wedding party

Disneydarlin2019, on January 19, 2018 at 2:31 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 15

I've never been to a day time wedding. I was thinking of possibly having a day time wedding, was wondering do people have a good time and party? We will be serving alcohol and brunch foods, however I want everyone to enjoy themselves but I fear everyone will leave right after brunch

I would have a good time and drink, but I don't dance in daylight. I would consider music entertainment that doesn't seem awkward without dancing. Like a live band or jazz and swing music or songs people sing too but don't dance much ("Sweet Caroline", "I got friends in Low places", etc.)

I'm not sure I'd stay for 5 hours of a reception, but certainly a good 3 hours if the food, music, and drinks were good!

We had a daytime wedding and our dance floor was packed all afternoon. Our ceremony started at 11, we served lunch, and the reception lasted until 4:30. 75% of our guests were still there after 4 when we did our last dance.

We are having a daytime wedding, but we aren't planning a traditional reception with dancing.

We considered this but the logistics of it didn't work for us. It was stressful trying to fit in all the pictures we wanted and getting ready in time for the ceremony. We would have likely done a live band instead of a DJ for a daytime wedding since it isn't a party atmosphere. I think brunch food is a great idea.

I’m planning a day wedding. There will be open bar, buffet, cake, music. It was so much affordable and honestly, no one we know is opposed to day drinking. Lol

My brother got married at 11, lunch a noon with cocktails. People make speeches, ate, and they had nothing planned after. People hung around for a while but everyone was either waiting to dance or do something. So I would recommend planning something

I feel like this would be one of the few times that "wedding games" would actually make sense. I don't mean the shoe game or whatever, but maybe putting out giant jenga or chess pieces and cornhole and croquet type things. I have no problem with day drinking, but day dancing is another story haha. So I'd just have some alternate activities available for people who want to hang out and socialize but don't want to necessarily get their boogie on in the daylight. And some fun live music couldn't hurt.

My aunt had a day wedding during the summer. It lasted for hours and we still had people hanging around after we were ready to go home. It just depends on your family and friends.

We are doing a “Sunday Funday” brunch wedding (on a Saturday ha) were going all the lawn games and dancing and brunch with doughnuts and a gelato cart instead of cake. We got a photo booth and rented a bunch of stuff. I want the whole day with my FH. Our time line as of now is ceremony at 11 with reception immediately following in the same location. We also planned an after party at our favorite bar with transportation to keep the party going.

We are doing a daytime wedding as well. I don't want to spend all day anxious and holed up in a bridal suite. My fiance and I want to get married then spend the day together. Smiley smile We are doing brunch food and drinks (BECAUSE MIMOSAS). Neither of our families are big drinkers or dancers so it fits us. We're going to do lawn games and for those that want to keep the party going we'll watch football and have a fire pit at our house. We've heard too many people say they didn't get to eat or talk to everyone long enough so we figured laid back and simple was the way to go. Smiley smile

We did brunch with Bloody Marys and mimosas, and later that night we hosted a casual open house. It wasn't a wild party, but we were fine wit that. It was very relaxed and we were able to spend quality time with everyone.

My fiancé and I are having a wedding from 12 to 4. We are having the ceremony at 12 and the reception at 1. We plan to have BBQ food for lunch at a brewery and will have fire pits outside for people to mingle if they don't want to be inside the brewery's biergarten. We'll have some games like corn hole, horse shoes and giant jenga. We wanted the occasion to be fun and relaxed for everyone.

We got married at 11, reception was noon-3. Lunch reception w/drinks, we had a pro musician playing guitar in background. It was great! No dancing but that was our choice, obviously. 42 guests and I would do it again. We were in the event room of our favorite restaurant after an arboretum wedding.

I like a brunch wedding, but I wouldn't attend a morning wedding on a weekday for anybody but my sister, and I would give her a hard time about it. It's really inconvenient. I would not be much in the mood for dancing or drinking on a Thursday morning either.

I'm planning a brunch reception and will definitely have a DJ there. Can't miss father-daughter dance or first dance! I hope with mimosas flowing people will join the dance floor!
