DB bridesmaid fabric mesh vs. chiffon vs. mesh/lace

Maria, on November 7, 2017 at 1:24 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5

I've looked up past posts with similar topics which was helpful. But I haven't found a thread that answers if one fabric looks more formal or appropriate for an evening wedding.

I'm leaning more towards the mesh gowns although I think they both look beautiful. I've just worn chiffon the last 2 times I was a bm and I'm personally over it. Is mesh too casual for an evening wedding at a church/hotel? Or mesh-lace for that matter?

Looking at David's Bridal selection.

Can you show some examples of the dresses you are looking at?

Honestly, when we went to try on BM dresses at David's Bridal, I couldn't tell much of a difference between the mesh and chiffon. My wedding will be at a church with the reception at a clubhouse, and my BMs will be in mesh or chiffon.

ETA: I think the mesh would be fine for your wedding. I love a lot of the mesh/lace dresses, but I'm not sure if any of my BMs are going with those.

I would get color swatches, I found that mesh and chiffon look different in the same color. I asked my BM to stick to the same fabric for that reason

I personally find the mesh to be more casual. My girls are doing DB for bridesmaid dresses, the color we chose had ljmited fabric availability- so we went with chiffon. We are doing short dresses- which I think adds to my perspective when compared to longer mesh dresses. Also, one of my friends wore a long mesh dress for another wedding. It photographed well, but was harder to alter.

Thanks for the replies! I’m not really attached to any specific DB dress. I was hoping to choose a fabric, color, and length for them to choose within those options.
