I got married in October and I told them to have a dress by the day of the wedding.

I’m getting married in July. I’m having my girls choose their own dress from the gold/champagne family. I’ll text them all after the new year to let them know the look I’m going for, and I’ll expect that they’ll have their dress by the wedding. I figure they’ve all either been in weddings or are married, so they know that the rough timelines are. If you are planning on having your girls order a specific dress/from a specific place, I’d find out what the very last possible order date is from that place and let them know that date.

I went shopping with my girls at David's Bridal and most of them ordered their dress that day. The others that didn't just knew that they needed by the time of the wedding.

I am in a wedding for 09/2020 and I had to order my dress for then last month. Due to the fact that it could have been back ordered if ordered late and won't be here till February. It was a dress the bride picked out though so it wasn't one where we got to choose our own.

I’m in a wedding taking place beginning of February 2020 and I ordered my dress earlier this month, it should get here mid-January so I have time for alterations if necessary.

I am doing a skirt/top/belt set for my bridesmaids. I sent them the links to the picked out pieces and told them I would like if they ordered by the end of January to give time for the skirt's longer shipping time, as well as exchanging sizes if needed. Wedding is in April

Ask the bridal shop (or find out if online), what the estimated timeframe is then tell your BMs that dress typical takes XX months from the date ordered.

I’m getting married in May and I told them to order by Christmas in case of returns and alterations + the 3 weeks for shipping. And my MOH has had to return twice now! So I’m glad I put a rather “early” deadline
