(DH knows dang well that one of the reasons I married him is because he and his family are very good cooks. I'm a simple creature and am easily swayed by homemade lasagna.)

You should taste the pies my FIL makes.

They not only offered to pay for our rehearsal dinner - they hosted it and made the food themselves.

Our officiant's wife cried with joy, because they figured out a way to make a delicious cake that allowed for her dietary needs.
Food is important to the vast majority of cultures, but East Coast Italian Americans take "food as a love language" to impressive heights.

I am struggling with this as well speak…my future FIL and SIL are super judgemental and I’m praying this doesn’t get worse when we’re married. 😩

I adore my in-laws. They're really lovely people and have been so welcoming from the first moment I met them. It was extremely important to me that I could at least be cordial with the parents of whoever I dated, since I went out with some people with truly awful, horrible parents and so I feel very blessed and grateful.
