Debating the bridesmaids carrying kissing balls

Chelsea, on July 26, 2010 at 7:45 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 6

Has anyone done this? If so did you as the bride also have a kissing ball? I think they look kind of cool, but also like the classic bouquet look...

Also considered putting the kissing balls on a long, ribbon-wrapped "stem" instead of a ribbon as a kind of different-looking but still classic style bouquet.

Any thoughts? Thanks!!

I've seen them for both, though I prefer when the bridesmaids have bouquets and then the flower girls have the kissing balls. It seems to make more sense for the little girls than the older ones.

So many jokes so little time. Back to the topic, I like the kissing ball bouquet but personally I think it suits flower girls more than bridesmaids. Though, I prefer it being used as a decoration (on the aisle or ceiling) than an actual carry kind of piece...

I agree with Miya. They're pretty, but I feel like they would be awkward to hold. The ribbon "stem" could work, though!

Pomanders are nice for little girls... i recommend fake ones, real ones can be very heavy.

Was just a BM & I had to carry a Pomander aka "kissing ball" bouquet Smiley winking w/ a ribbon steam. It was very awkward to carry, perhaps bc the 'ribbon steam' was at the same length on all of us and they dangled right in front of all our crotch areas. We were instructed to hold them a certain way on our wrist, at a certain height, &after a while it got heavy& the ribbon stem dug right into our wrists&fingers, all BM complained.Even tho uncomforty, they were VERY pretty, unique, yet classy&photographed nicely..holding them, different story!

Some of my thoughts/suggestions for ur BM or whoever is carrying them: make sure they r light in weight, use a soft material for steam like satin, have the fabric wide where its going to be held/arond wrist so its comfy (hers were thin, mesh&heavy),check length/how they looked carried on each girl!

Here r a few pics from that wedding so u can c wut i mean by crotch level (at ceremony) ,bride BMs,I'll find another i thinks will help u-OF NOT TO DOs.Hope it helpful
