December 2020 Brides!!

Amanda, on April 8, 2020 at 7:22 AM Posted in Community Conversations 2 19

Hello!!

#coronabride here!! We were originally getting married on June 27th, 2020 but now are getting married on December 12th, 2020. We were bummed at first but holy cow December weddings are stunning!! We are so excited for our new month! We are going to be using most of our original decor and incorporating some winter addition's to make it feel more like the holidays. Those of you who have the faux fur stoles, did you have your bridal party buy them or did you buy them as a gift? My ladies are wearing Chianti and Gem long satin dresses from DB so I thought the stoles would not only look amazing but also help keep them warm. I'm also thinking of getting them all slippers to go with our matching PJ's as well since it will be chilly now.

We have been engaged since December 4th 2018 and together since summer 2015...while postponing was a tough decision it actually seems to be fitting us!! My girls are planning a Fall Basic Betches Bachelorette party complete with matching flannels and PSL photo shoots?? A warm Caribbean cruise honeymoon in winter? POSSIBLE SNOW ON WEDDING DAY?? Amazing. It probably won't snow as it's in NC BUT a girl can dream and Covid-19 owes me right??

Happy Planning y'all!!!

December 5, 2020 for us! This was our original date since my fiancé is a baseball coach and is always busy with baseball during the week/weekends January-November. Although all that’s on hold right now obviously. I had never pictured myself getting married in a winter month but we are super excited about it also! So glad you have a new date you are excited about Smiley smile

December 6th here. Original date, FH and I live near the mountains, love the snow and are just so excited about a winter wedding.
I am planning on getting the bridesmaids the faux fur stoles. I didn’t pay for their dresses though and they are all coming from out of town so I thought it made more sense that way. I am not sure though if I’ll do a stole or a faux fur coat. Our ceremony is outdoor and we will have heaters but I’m still worried that a stole might be too light for our weather.

Ok this is crazy! My original date is also June 27th and my new date is in December. December 5th, but nonethelss!! And it gets even crazier, we are also getting married in NC! We are also hoping for snow, and since we are getting married up in the mountains the chances might actually be alright. Hoping for the best. Officially we have not postponed yet (waiting to be a bit closer), but we are pretty sure June won't work out and then December it is.

I think it will be mostly cleared up by December. We will at least have an understanding of what is "normal" by then so we can make better plans for events.

Amazing!! We had the options of August and November to choose from also but we thought August was too soon and the option in November was the weekend after Thanksgiving. I would LOVE snow but IDK if snow is an option that early into winter in NC. We are getting married at Pinehurst, about an hour outside of Raleigh, what about y'all?

    UPDATE!!

I got my stimulus check and regular pay check at the same time so I MIGHT have splurged a bit and got super cute wedding stuff for myself and my girls. I love ETSY. I got the girls plaid shawls in our wedding colors with their monograms on them and super cute slippers for wedding weekend that say "Bride Crew" as we are mostly airline crew I thought this was super fun. I'm also going to be buying FH his replacement socks (I had ordered him some with monogram and date so now it needs to change).

I did save $1K of my check and immediately put that into my savings (with interest) account but I knew I would need/want these items for the wedding and I'm supporting small business!!

We are getting married at a little Inn in Blowing Rock (like 15 min outside of Boone)! We are praying for snow, but who knows... We both absolutely love Christmas and that's also the season in which FH proposed so it actually is quite fitting for us!

My wedding is originally planned for Dec. 31st, all of you seem so confident that December weddings will still be a go but I’m not so sure 😣 I keep reading the headlines about the “second wave” coming in the fall/winter. I’m also super worried that even if we’re allowed to have the wedding that most people won’t want to fly or it would be risky for them to do so as most of our extended family are seniors. Anyone else questioning their December date?? Our wedding is planned for Galveston, TX.

Texas is already in phase 1 of re-opening. I wouldn't be overly concerned. If this does come back around in fall/winter I think we will know how to handle it better earlier and get it under control sooner. Countries around the world are re-opening as we speak. Life has to go on and nothing can be sustained in the current situation. I'm hopeful that December will be fine and still going along with our wedding planning.

Oh my gosh, I am December 5th in CT and I am so so nervous still that it may not happen or if it does we will have to cut our list down which I really don't want to do. Not to mention that like half of my bridal party and a lot of my family would have to fly in and may not feel comfortable doing so if there is a second wave. I'm trying to stay positive and act like it's happening for now but I can't deny that it's kind of made me stall out on planning. Before all of this I was super ahead of schedule on everything and feeling really good but now I'm falling behind on a lot including finding a dress. I did go try on dresses the other day in a mask which was interesting!Smiley xd

It seems like what they are predicting changes by the day so I'm crossing my fingers that things will become more clear one way or another soon.

We have the same date!! December 12th. Staying optimistic, that we will be able to have it as usual. Supposed to have started my dress shopping april 11th and it got postponed to June 24th! 😬 Everything is going smoothly, and we’re hoping for just a light dusting of snow that day, I’m marrying a farmer and we have been engaged since christmas eve last year. So a winter wedding just made sense. Happy planning!!♥️

How are all of us doing at this point?!

Our venue is currently allowing 50% capacity through September, FH and I are very hopeful that we will be able to have our wedding at or around 50-75% capacity by December. Does anyone else have any updates?

We are talking to our coordinator this week, but looks like we are more than likely cutting our list down to 50 guests due to venue size/restrictions to accommodate for social distancing. We have the option to have it completely outdoors at a different venue, but it would cost way more $$$$ and I don’t want to chance it with the weather. Soooo that’s where we’re at
