December or November date

Alyssa, on December 22, 2022 at 4:28 PM Posted in Planning 1 3
We found a lovely venue but the only dates left for next year is weekend before and after thanksgiving and all of December. We were thinking the weekend before thanksgiving or the first weekend of December . We were leaning more towards the November one because it could be a bit warmer and a little bit more sunlight and leaves on the trees. But idk for people traveling out of town could be more expensive and inconvenient because it’s thanksgiving soon. Does anyone have advice which one to choose?

I think either way your are going to unfortunately have guests that won't be able to attend due to the holidays (Thanksgiving & Christmas) unless all of your guests are local. If you have a lot of guests traveling in then I think your decline rate might be higher than normal. I would honestly just pick any date.

I went to a wedding the first week end of December and it was fine. I'd agree that right before Thanksgiving could be too hectic for some to travel.

Ask a few people who you definitely want there, parents, grandparents, close friend. See what works for them and choose. Here it snowed around Thanksgiving and haven't had really any snow since

I also think the slight lull between Thanksgiving and Christmas would be your best bet
