Deciding between Two Wedding Dates

Maddie, on November 3, 2022 at 9:57 AM Posted in Planning 0 3
So the venue that I absolutely want has 2 available dates in the Spring season. The two dates are.

April 6th 2024
Or
May 4th, 2024.

The wedding will be in South Carolina.

Just to give you an idea of the average weather on those two dates.

For the beginning of April the month usually has a high of 70 F and low of 50 F.
And for May a low of 68 F and high of 78 F

Not very much of a difference which is why I’m having such a hard time picking between the two.

You often hear that you have a higher chance of seeing those April showers in April. But in my experience of living in South Carolina. Predicting the rain is a 50/50 shot, you never know. 😂 Also, the venue I’ve picked also offers either doing it inside or outside. They have what they refer to as a built in rain plan if a shower decides to show up.

Any advice to help me see the possible cons of each one, would be super helpful.
Thanks!

If you are having people come in from out of town, I suggest May.

April costs are more expensive because of spring break.

Plus, it can still snow in April in some places... so that might cause travel issues.

My Star Wars-obsessed fiancé would absolutely go with May 4th and want some kind of tie-in. My anti Star Wars self would want to stay as far away from that as possible and go for the April date. So which are you and FH lol?

If you're having any part of it outdoors, I'd pick the May date!
