Deciding on Bridesmaids Dresses

Perris, on April 4, 2022 at 10:44 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 3 15
Would anyone have any suggestions on how to pick dress styles for a bridesmaid with larger breasts? I have not been able to find anything that is flattering on her and the other girls. Or would it be best for her to have something different? Ideas?

Have you all gone to a local dress shop to try on various styles? That’s really the only way to tell what styles work and what don’t. My suggestion is wearing a plus size dress and having it altered to fit the rest of their bodies, because it’s easier for a seamstress to make a dress smaller than it is to make it larger.

Are all of your bridesmaids top heavy or just a couple of them? It’s better to get dress styles that are flattering to each individual within the same designer. That way you can stick with the same color and it won’t be 5 different pinks or purples or whatever color.

Unfortunately, majority of my bridesmaids live out of state. But I was able to get her to try on some various styles via FaceTime but the ones she tried still weren’t flattering to me. She is the only one that is top heavy so I want her to still look good but not stick out too much.

Have them wear a shaper and good secure bra and once they try on dresses. The consultant will have them try on different styles and narrow what kind of style fabrics that you want. And try different same looks of dresses for your bridesmaids ask or the consultant will let you know if they can get it for your girls who are carrying alot of girls up top. So I have 3 of my girls who carry alot up top too so David bridal find them there dress in my color and style

My bridesmaids have very different body types. We went shopping In person, and, as I was expecting them to all pick out different dresses in the same color, I was presently surprised they all choose the same design (from David’s Bridal): Deciding on Bridesmaids Dresses 5

When i tell you the "Infinity Dress" saved the day for my big busted lady friends in my wedding, I swear by it. It is so versatile the same girl who is 5'9 with DD cups looks just as flattering as the 5'4 girl with B cups. They are worth a try on. Plus you can have the same style dress, but each bridesmaid can choose how to wear the top half. Some of my girls are even switching the way they are wearing the tops after the ceremony for a different look for reception!

I used azazie for bridesmaid dresses, and two of my friends have large chests. I ordered a few sample dresses to try on at home (myself) to see how they fit, and it helped me to better inform them about what might work well. It’s $10 each to do that, you can select up to 3 try on dresses at a time, and it can give you an idea of the type of coverage/fit before buying. If you go on their website, you can select styles you like and save it to a showroom. Your bridesmaids can order try on dresses and see what works best. For reference, my bridesmaids live in 3 different states and it worked well for us. We went with the same color, length and material, but they each have a different top. Also, if you click on the reviews for the various dresses, you can see real customer photos and see how the tops fit different size bodies. Maybe that’ll be helpful for you.

My girls are all very different body types so I just told them a color and length and they're picking their own from Azazie which has a try on at home option. Maybe you could pick three styles and they can each "try them on" at home and decide from there? You could make it a fun night on a zoom call or something since they're all far away.

I would 100% recommend something with straps. I went to a wedding where the bride insisted on strapless dresses, which was fine for all but one of her bridesmaids (who was bustier). I think that bridesmaid's dress might have come in too small too, which made things even worse. That bridesmaid was just so embarrassed until she could add the detachable straps after the ceremony.

I do like the suggestion to check out the Azazie home try-on option. You could look for a few styles that have worked for the bridesmaid in the past and maybe offer a few options for your bridesmaids to try on to see what they like.

Not at all. If you buy them from the Infinity Dress website you can actually get a how to guide and it shows you over 100 different ways to tie the top with instructions. My girls ordered the Infinity Dress from amazon because it was slightly cheaper, and then went onto the Infinity Dress brand's website and just ordered the how to guide. I think it was like $5 or something like that, but i believe it is a video that shows you step by step how to do most of the styles. It even comes with a bandeau bra option to put under the dress in case your worried about the styles needing to be more conservative or "covered up."

I had a similar problem: all three bridesmaids in different states, and 2 on the larger size, bust wise.

I went with a simple dress from Azazie, had one of the more generously endowed girls try it on, and it works great.

Have you thought about not making each of the bridesmaids wear the exact same dress, but the same color in a couple different styles. This works well if you have a larger bridal party. I would definitely try to find dresses with thicker straps if you do go the route of one specific dress.
