So.....I'm trying to decide which way to go with my legal last name after we're married and then I thought... Hey! Let me ask how others are making this decision. So...please share which choice you are making and why. Any pros and cons you've considered.. Etc. Thanks in advance! ...

My partner’s last name is already hyphenated, so adding another hyphen is out of the question for me—I’m not gonna saddle myself with a 16-letter monstrosity 😂

I plan to take my partner’s name and move my last name to a second middle name. I want us to have the same last name, and she’s more attached emotionally to her last name than I am to mine. However, I don’t want to fully get rid of my last name or my middle name (I’m named after my grandmothers so there’s some emotion there), so I’ll just be Sarah R.C. Reyes-Alix.

That would be a unique situation (e.g. adding a hyphenated name to your maiden name).

    Thanks for sharing!
