Decor Duels: String Lights or Uplighting?

I would do string light if my wedding was outside. uplight for inside

String lights for the ceremony and uplighting for the reception!

It mostly depends upon the venue! I love the look of string lights when they appear like stars in the sky. If there's a simple, high ceiling/roof/tent top, it can instantly benefit from the magic of string lights. On the other hand, if there is already light fixtures or if the ceiling is too low it doesn't work. Uplighting can easily transform a space as well.

String lights! But we had both.

We are getting married in a gorgeous reclaimed barn space in the fall.

We are doing uplighting to highlight the architecture of the old barn but also using srong lights over the center to highlight the 2000 falling leaves installation that i created that covers the dance floor as the string lights will be muted from the falling leaves yet still highlight the installation
