Decor for benches-please help

Mika1011, on February 22, 2013 at 7:14 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5

Our outdoor venue has a gazebo & bench seating for 100..I have no idea how to decorate the benches. Our colors are peacock inspired: (David's Bridal colors) horizon (blue), Kelly green, plum & begonia (fuchsia-I couldn't resist such a gorgeous color!). As for the gazebo I've seen images of people using tulle & creating curtains..any suggestions and photo ideas are greatly appreciated.

I would suggest shepherd's hooks. After staking them in the ground at the end of the bench, you can hang almost anything you like off of them (tulle bows, ribbon bows, pomander balls, cones with several floral stems, strands of crystals, candles in glass, miniature wreaths, small floral arrangements, potted flowers, etc.). Once they're all up, they'll frame your aisle beautifully.

Check out this You-tube Video. While the hooks the demonstrator is using may be too big for you, they come in all sizes. It'll just give you an idea of how versatile they are.

Another option is to ask your florist to make you some arrangements that would sit on the grass at the end of the bench (framing the aisle). No containers necessary, just a square or rectangular oasis form filled with flowers (low or high) would look great. They could serve double duty and be brought inside to place in and around your reception area.

I have seen potted plants at the end of benches for outdoor weddings that have been very beautiful and go well with the atmosphere.

Kamika, I know exactly where this venue is. I wouldn't do anything to the benches. I would focus on the aisle with a stunning design made out of rose petals. On the wedding day have 2 people standing at the entrance of the aisle to direct guests to the seat themselves from the outside so that no one walks down your aisle until the processional, or you can block it with ribbon.

I love it... how about a few pillows here and there... or all over,

Wait... how much is your budget for the ceremony?

Thank you so much for your help! I love the shepherd's hook idea (with pom balls or crystal strands) & focusing on the aisle...and def will block the aisle with a ribbon. It sounds like easy diy decor, I love it! I want to spend as little as possible on the outdoor gazebo for fear that it could rain. If it does, the entire ceremony will be indoors & it's an empty room (solely with tables & chairs) that needs a lot of attention.
