Forewarning: I've looked at pinterest (duh.), I've looked through the forums here, and I've looked on Google for answers to my question.

My venue is an old school house. I'm going for a rustic look. I know - centerpieces are the biggest thing for making rustic decor, but I'm asking for more venue specific stuff because my venue is a little outdated and has a stage that we can't use for anything.

I'd love to hear any suggestions you have for the stage. I don't want to leave it blank because I think it will seem out of place.

Any inexpensive ways to decorate the windows?

I will probably add something to the "arch" or whatever it's called that separates the two halves of the room, and then replace those oh so lovely art pieces with some random rustic decor. Would love to hear any other ideas for turning up the rustic in this place.

TIA.

Are you sold on rustic, because it looks very clean and modern to me. I do not really know if rustic works well with this venue.

You could put candles with the metal holders that have the loop on the side in the windows if the sil allows it.

@jona d. Omg yeah almost the same! Thanks for the ideas.

@miami2northernVA yes. The inside is not, but the outside where we will have the ceremony is like 100% rustic, oak trees and moss, etc. It's how I've pictured it for years so I'm not really wanting to change. I'll make it work some how!

If you can't take the pictures down, you could still use engineer's prints of old photos. You can get them printed in sepia tones to look vintage. Mount them on to a piece of foam core just slightly smaller than the inside dimension of the frames on the wall, then use command strips to hold the foam core in place.
