Decorating a Bird Cage Card Box

Bride2Be, on June 30, 2013 at 3:35 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 9

Hi everyone!

I purchased a bird cage for my card box. I need to decorate it, but I have 0 crafty ability. I know I really just need to get some ribbon and maybe a sign that says cards. I'm just wondering if anyone had tips on what to do.

Thanks!

Use Google or YouTube. What exactly do you want on it? You can use gems, some fabric maybe.

This is the picture I used as my model. We used the green moss sheet to line the bottom like in the picture and artificial gerbera flowers but in different colors.

    So pretty MinD!!

Future Mrs. F - I just want a ribbon, card that says cards and maybe a bow on top with bling if possible. I've googled and haven't found any how tos. I'm really looking for a template that says "get 10" long ribbon", etc. Something very easy for dummies like me Smiley smile I think I can try to figure it out.

    Thanks!

Random related tip: Make sure you have a solid base so cards can't fall out of the bottom. Your birdcage might be fine, but most are slatted and have pretty big openings. I cut a piece of cardboard to fit the inside/bottom of our birdcage and covered it in the same decorative paper I used as my seating chart background. It was pretty and practical.

This was mine- it was fun and easy to do! I bought the flowers I wanted, a tick ribbon and had thin silver wire. I grouped the flowers together and used the wire to hold it all together. It couldn't budge since the top opened and I needed to make sure the flowers didnt fall off. I cut tiny pieces of wire and strung them through the petals of a few flowers and either into the ribbon or around the cage bars. The ribbon is just tied in the back. The card on the front is just cardsotck I printed on and cut with fancy scissors and i mounted on the silver but left room to string the ribbon through. All in all easy!
