Decorating Chuppah Frame on a Budget

Jen, on December 9, 2020 at 11:56 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 7

Looking for advice how to inexpensively make a chuppah look beautiful. My FH is Jewish and we can get a frame from the synagogue and we have the cloth for the top (been passed down through the family), but it's up to us to decorate the frame. I don't want to break the bank with flowers 😅 So far, I'm considering IKEA sheer white curtains called LILL I saw online and maybe zip tying some extra flowers to the front and tying white ribbon, but I'm very concerned with our ability to DIY this and still look good 😬

My cousin crocheted her chuppah covering and decoration. It took her a long time, but it was beautiful, (relatively) inexpensive, and very personal.

What is a realistic budget for you for materials to cover or drape from the poles, and decorate them?

Have you spoken to your florist about this? Our florist helped with decorating our arch. She offered many different options from flowers to fabric.

I would talk to your florist and see what they can offer in terms of decorating. The most expensive part of a chuppah is usually the frame, and since you're able to borrow one from the synagogue, you're already a giant step ahead. The reason our chuppah was so costly was because our florist took care of the frame + the flowers and we only provided the cloth. If you already have your frame, it shouldn't be that expensive to have your florist decorate with some flowers.

Hi Jen! You could definitely use those sheer curtains and tie them back with pretty ribbon or a small floral accent!

I also think that sometimes just one or two small floral swags look great as decoration:
