Decorating Rules - anyone else having this problem?

So my venue has rules when it comes to decorations. They don't want you to use staples, nails or anything else that puts holes in the wall which is completely understandable. BUT then they say you can't use tape either! So how am I suppose to hang up any decorations? Anyone else having to go thru...

So how am I suppose to hang up any decorations? Anyone else having to go thru this? If so, what are you using? I've gotten the okay to use fishing line, string and poster putty, but how am I going to hang up anything heavier than a "picture"? Or do you think poster putty is strong enough to hang up heavier things?

Any ideas>

At the venue I'm most interested in the only thing we can't do is have candles. I'd be scared to have them anyway to be honest.

If the letters aren't too heavy you could try helium balloons. Maybe one big one or a couple normals per letter. Attach the letter to the strings of the balloons and then attach another string, or ribbon the bottom of the letter that has a weight on it, so as to keep the balloon and attached letter from floating all over. Then your letters look as if they are floating.

3m command strips and hooks can hold up to 10 lbs. Are those allowed?

Can you use table top easels? Maybe try to be creative with a room divider screen you can NAIL onto, and decorate. Use those wood crates, paint them and display them like a showcase on a table or the floor with lighting (led candles or steing lights?) If I knew your style I might have more ideas.

Have you asked about painter's tape?

It's blue (or green) and doesn't hold heavy objects but it comes off walls really easily without removing paint or damaging surfaces. My company only allows us to hang posters using painters tape.

I'm honestly not sure if it would solve your problem of having to hang heavier things, but might be worth asking if you think it will help.
