I know a lot of venues are probably like this but has anyone done all of the decorating for their wedding the day of the wedding? We can’t get in to our venue until 8:00 the morning of the wedding and our ceremony starts at 4. I don’t have a planner or anything, my mom and I have done everything by ourselves. I’m sure it will be fine and we will have the help of lots of close friends and family but it still makes me a little nervous! I plan on just being very organized and figuring out exactly where everything will go beforehand. Any other tips?

I would hire a DOC; you're not going to want to set up your wedding!

I'm all for a DOC! I originally thought I wouldn't want one, but then I realized how much I needed to get down the morning of and had no time to decorate, make sure vendors set up where I wanted them and such.... Plus, they are more affordable than I thought! I was a MOH in my friends wedding last summer and she decided to decorate the morning of. While at the end of the day, it was safe to say the wedding was beautiful, she was mentally exhausted. We suffered two break downs from her, three broken centerpieces (that my FH was a life saver and had super glue in the truck and was able to savage them) and one bridesmaids misplaced a few table numbers somewhere and no one noticed until reception time. I'm not saying this will happen in your case, but NOTHING feels worse than thinking you ruined your friend (or family members) big day!

I think you'll have more than enough time to get it done and get dressed, take pictures and relax. Not saying it won't be a lot going on but it can be done. Why spend extra money on something you can get done yourself. My mom gathered an entire team to help on my wedding day so it'll be about 10 of us. My venue will already have the tables and chairs set up we just have to decorate

It depends on exactly what you have to do as far as decorating.

Do you need to move tables and chairs, drape tables, hang ceiling decorations? Consider if you can hire someone.

If it's just putting centerpieces, and other decor, and you have several people there at 8 a.m. , that should work out.
