I Would Wrap The Pillars With Fairy Lights. They're Very Pretty And Decently Priced.

I would wrap the pillars/beams in white christmas lights, adds sparkle and romance for cheap. If the pergola with the basketball goal is the ceremony space or other focal point of evening... Draping some fabric on the pergola to make a nice arch and making some "floating floral garland" out of flowers and fishing line to hang vertically from the top as a backdrop would help to cover basketball goal and just give a nice backdrop. Wreaths on the doors with your new last name initial in the middle and a bow in your wedding colors would be cute and dress them up. You can also get a metal bucket for each side and fill with some fake flowers for a cheap big arrangement to hold the doors open.
