It doesn't sound like black is going to fit your color scheme very well and uplighting would not help. I would keep looking too! If you must use the black drapes, you could get a few fabric panels in your colors and add them as accents over the black drapes.

Agreed. Keep looking. Black fabric will absorb most light against it, and an LED will barely be visible. And with a darker color it will be less so.
