Our venue provides a bunch of the decorations and my stepmom offered to help with the rest of them. Our big wedding is in a hotel ballroom, so we decided to stay the full weekend there (us as well as our parents and wedding party). We will go down friday, and they will start decorating for our saturday wedding.

My fiance and I are planning to decorate our venue ourselves. Since our wedding is on a Friday, we'll decorate Thursday afternoon before our rehearsal. Our florist will setup a few decorations for us (just the ones we're renting from them), and they'll set that up most likely on Friday morning, but everything else will be setup by us on Thursday.

Some venues will take care of it for you. Our venue appointed us a coordinator. We will be using some of their decor and bringing in the rest. We will walk through the venue with our coordinator and discuss how we would like each area to look and then they will take care of it for us. If it wasn't for the coordinator, I'd probably come in the day before with FH and maybe some of the bridal party and knock it out ourselves.

The coordinator at our venue offered to give us access to the reception space the evening before the wedding so we could get decorating out of the way. However, I plan to have a rehearsal dinner, followed by an activity for everyone, then we are going out to the bars, so we won’t be able to take advantage of that. Our wedding isn’t until the evening though, so I will be setting up my reception space prior to getting hair and make up done. I was just going to have a couple people help me, but all my aunts, my MOH, and lots of friends have expressed interest in helping, so I guess we are going to have a small army decorating LOL Hopefully that means it goes quicker! I won’t be able to set up the ceremony space though. The Venue coordinator said they would set up the space for me, but tbh I don’t know if I trust a stranger with that big a task. So I am putting one of my aunts and one of my friends in charge of that (The ceremony space is beautiful, so there will be very minimal decorating done there). Plus, we are hanging lights in the trees of the courtyard, so I am going to have some of the guys do that. I will be providing all of them with inspiration pictures and written instructions, just so they know exactly what I want done.

We married in Upstate NY, coming from NH. so we asked a friend . He said area college and 2 community colleges had hospitality, commercial arts, and theatre students who might be inclined to take it seriously, not just slap anything anywhere. We put up notices on 2 boards and at the local high school, after some thought. Hospitality- Hotel management student. We used mostly live flowering plants, as table centerpieces and set around the Inn, and around a patio and stone wall. But also wanted a number of pictures of the ancient relative and ship on stormy seas type removed and wrapped, And a long wall backdrop for photographs there. Even help to set up a nursery area with porta cribs and cots for 15.
She worked 3 hours the day before, an hour of just instructions. And started when the dining and ceremony area were done after brunch, 2-5 pm Everything ready, nice, except the filling and lighting of lamps or electric candles. We paid $30 an hour, 6.5 hours, 226 with tip. She was so eager and conscientious. Like a good bartender, worth paying for
The least expensive Dou pf Coordinators ran $1500. All we needed was setting things out, no supervision, no calls, no taking deliveries. And we could not see paying 1/10 of our $15,000 budget for a DOC.

I was lucky enough to decorate my venue on the Friday before and the ceremony was on Saturday. However, that Saturday I had a few last minute items to move outside/set up. So In between getting ready I would sneak away and set up, and then come back.

We're lucky, and won't have to purchase the majority of our decorations. Our look is very minimal, and the venue already has everything we were wanting to incorporate!

Our package came with a day of coordinator. Her and her partner, along with the venue owners, will be the ones that decorate and set up/tear down everything!

It depends on the venue, but yours will probably do all of the setting up for you. If not, you can always ask if you can set up the day before your wedding during the rehearsal.

I'm planning the wedding myself but we still have a florist and our coordinator will basically set up everything else. The only thing we have to worry about is assembling our arch since we purchased it from somewhere else. We will do that after our rehearsal the night before so we don't have to worry about it the day of.

We had a DOC. She and her staff decorated and set everything up. Me and my bridal party did pop in to see how things were looking and change up anything I wanted. Luckily, my bridal suite was on the venue property.

Our venue offered a day-of coordinator and are opening the the ballroom and chapel hours before the ceremony so they'll be taking care of that for us. If they weren't, my bridal party offered to make sure everything would be in place. Luckily, my bridal suite will be open the earliest so I can pop in and make changes if I need to.
