Decoration to hide windows. sos

vriz, on January 22, 2018 at 3:18 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 7

So at our venue there are these windows on one side. There is a shelf in front of the window so that you can sit things. I want to completely hide these windows and the odd shadows. I am not able to hang anything to the wall. I am going for a glam look and my colors are gold and blush. I do not want to have to spend a lot of money on this but I do want it all to be covered as much as possible and look like beautiful decor, not like i am trying to hide something. Thanks for any ideas!!

P.S I do not have measurements yet but i would say it is maybe 2 feet tall or so.

The pictures are screenshots of a video I took.

Large flower arrangements or potted plants maybe?

I don't think the windows look that bad though and wouldn't worry about covering them. Once you get all your other decor in the room they will fade into the background. If you are really concerned you can try and see if the venue has any pictures of other weddings where they were covered or you could try google searching for images.

I would say large menu boards, or quote boards in large picture frames would be able to cover the two small windows, I would suggest tall and full floral pieces in red and gold to assist in covering the large long window, and maybe some signage as well to help cover.

Potted plants are probably your best bet.

I have seen other pictures and no one has covered them and it always stands out to me when I see the pictures. A large flower arrangement is a great idea!

You could get some tension rods and hang some cafe curtains on them.. you could probably find them really cheap at ikea etc. There are also lots of places that sell removable wallpaper. You could just get one roll, cut it to the size of the windows, and peel it off after.

I like the idea of signage too. I made a few signs for my wedding finding ornate frames at thrift stores and painted boards with chalkboard ink and got chalk markers to make the sign. If you're crafty or know someone that is my husband made me a frame from moulding from home depot and it came out really pretty.
