Has anyone delayed taking their honeymoon? Did you get around to taking it or not? I am hoping to be in a Law Enforcement academy during the time our wedding is set for and I wouldn't exactly be able to take time off for a honeymoon. But I feel like everyone tells me that "if you don't take it right away, you never will". What have you guys experienced with this??

We will have to do a delayed honeymoon for us. We both are college coaches and our wedding is in the middle of my season (very beginning of FHs). We may end up doing a getaway at a really nice hotel the night of the wedding, but we’ll both be back to work on the following Monday for practices. We will definitely be taking it during Christmas or spring break though!

Going to Europe 9 months after the wedding. So that will be in Aug. Not my choice but atleast I'm lucky enough to go.

We are marrying in March but the honeymoon will be in June. We are delaying because we want to go to Alaska and June is a great time to go. Also we took a pre honeymoon (that's what we're calling it) a few weeks ago. Mainly to see how I would hold up on a cruise. I get bad motion sickness.

I also plan to delay our honeymoon since I will be starting a new job in August and am unsure how much vacation time I will be getting. I do know I will have more time off in the summer so we are planning it and booking it for then. I fear if we don't book it, that we will never go.

Because I’m a teacher, we’re having a mini-moon following our wedding during spring break, then going on our honeymoon when I’m off for summer break. We’ve gone ahead and booked both so there’s no chance of putting anything off indefinitely. I’m glad we’re doing the delay because I feel like there will still be something exciting to look forward to instead of doing it all at once.

FH and I want to go on a chain trip through Europe, especially Germany (he works for a German company and has German and Polish heritage, and I'm learning German during my free time). We're getting married in September, but we know Europe costs a FORTUNE. We are talking about having our honeymoon in springtime, like April. He has a good job, while I'm just a substitute teacher. I need a permanent music teaching job in my field (band teacher) so I can have a steady income, but NY usually has nothing in my field of study...typical.

Anyway, I'm digressing! Long story short, we're discussing postponing our honeymoon for a few months. A lot of people do it nowadays too, so no worries!

My brother got married in August, and had to report to work 2 days later as he is a first-year high school teacher. He and his wife decided to delay their honeymoon until now, when they both had breaks from grad school and teaching. they left the day after Christmas! I think having a solid plan of when to take it definitely helps
