Delaying Our Honeymoon! When to Schedule?

Susan, on September 28, 2021 at 12:09 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 5

My fiance and I are getting married in two weeks (YIKES). I have a 12 year old daughter.

Four months ago, we moved halfway across the country for my job, so we don't have family support or really close friends here where we live now. Finding someone to look after my daughter would be a big deal at this point.

Because we haven't banked up vacation at our jobs, we also haven't got time to take a honeymoon.

So we've decided to put it off for a year and possibly make it a 'familymoon' but I'm actually kind of not into that idea. I would love for the two of us to jet off on a vacation for two together. I adore my daughter, but she's been around while we've dated, and we've let her be involved in the wedding to the extent she wants to in order to respect her feelings.

I would love to do this one thing without her. Smiley xd

But it seems the odds are stacked against us at this point. Do we take a familymoon somewhere kid friendly and put off having a grown up trip for two till she's older and out of the house?

Just kind of venting here. Smiley smile

Could she possibly go visit family while you guys take your honeymoon next year. Maybe even wait until there’s a break from school and she could spend the holidays with family. You don’t have to include her but you also shouldn’t wait until she’s out of the house before having a vacation with your husband.

She could either visit family while you are on your honeymoon, or you could also see if someone else would come on vacation to look after her. That way you could spend some family time but also spend time with just your husband.

It could be fun for her to visit wherever you moved from and see other family and her old friends.

I remember moving from Boston to Las Vegas, it was a really intense experience. What mover did you hire? https://starkmovers.com/moving-from-boston-to-las-vegas/ I can recommend this one

You can always have time for you and your wife. However, the moments you spend with your child would be priceless for her growing up. I suggest invest for a family vacation.
