Dessert table as favors

Jennifer, on August 17, 2016 at 10:58 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

I had an idea to do a dessert table with little boxes for our guests to fill as their favors. Im Greek and FH is Mexican, so i though it would be cute to do an assortment of desserts to reflect our cultures. I've told a few people this idea and most like it, but ive gotten some feedback that it wont workout right or that the guests wont "get" it. What do y'all think?

If you tell them it's a take home box they will get it other wise I think people might just eat it there instead of taking it home with them...not sure though. I do like the idea though Smiley smile

I think if you put a sign saying like "fill a box, our treat" or something like that would be cute. and I

think they would understand that if there are boxes to take stuff home or even say something like thank you for coming somewhere near the table also would help.

I am doing something similar but I am going to have bins with different popcorn and mason jars and have a sign that says "thanks for popping by" for them to fill their jar with the desired popcorn.

I love the idea. They can eat the sweets the next day if they want to. I am doing the same with cake. Cake slices in to go boxes only because we are having viennese hour.

Im doing this with typical mexican candy...im sure guests and kids will eat it there instead of taking it home, but the point is for them to take some i dont care what they do with it.

We are doing this! We will have a cheesy sign that says something "love us sweet, please take a treat"

But you better believe that we will have enough for people to take a small box home and have one or two mini baked goods there that night (because I will be chomping away at that table, too!!)

We're doing the same thing. We're putting up a sign & having our DJ announce before desserts are served to fill some in their boxes & take them home. I was told most people throw away wedding trinkets.

I love the idea, and I agree with everyone if you put a little sign people will get it. Also, what's the worst case scenario? they eat it there? Food makes people happy so you can't go wrong Smiley smile

These are just a couple I found on pinterest that I think people will get. Especially if the dj announces it.

We will be doing this as well. Our menu is breakfast for dinner and we will have a pastry table (muffins, donuts, danishes, and cake pops) for guests to take home as favors. We will have a cute sign to indicate the treats as favors.
