Hey all! So I’m in the middle of planning my August 2020 wedding and there’s something I’m definitely stuck on: dessert tables. I haven’t gone to many weddings so I don’t have experience in that, but are dessert tables typically set up? I know they are there for bridal showers and stuff but do...
Hey all! So I’m in the middle of planning my August 2020 wedding and there’s something I’m definitely stuck on: dessert tables. I haven’t gone to many weddings so I don’t have experience in that, but are dessert tables typically set up? I know they are there for bridal showers and stuff but do weddings typically have them? We’re on a budget so I didn’t know if foregoing this will be seen as cheap or if most people don’t have it anyways? We will be having a cake but I meant for example cake pops, macarons, etc or is that just for bridal showers?
Thanks!

Honestly I know a lot of cake itself goes to waste, my fiancee loves candy so we are doing a retro candy bar. That way if there is leftover guests can take it home or we can.

We did a dessert table. It was easier for us, we knew people would be super into drinking/dancing/partying so they wouldn't want to sit down and be served cake. It cost us around $1,200 for 150 guests including delivery & set up. We had cupcakes, brownies, cookies, and mini peach pies.Dessert table: do or dont?? 1

You don't have to have one and you won't seem cheap at all weddings are very expensive. A dessert table is just an extra thing. We will have one only because I think I'm getting a great deal from our baker. We will have white chocolate candy apples sprinkled in gold, lemon bars, mini cheese cakes, fresh fruit cups and chocolate chip cookie sandwiches. I'm thinking about also doing some banana pudding and strawberry shortcake shooters

My FH and I aren't big cake people so we are having a small cake to cut ceremoniously and then doing pies, caramel apples, and popcorn. Kinda random, but they're some of our favorite things so it makes sense to us.

You can do both! I had desserts at my wedding surrounded by the cake. It's your day so you can do whatever you want and I don't think it looks funny or out of place. The displace looks really beautiful and gives options for guests. The desserts I served included dairy free, gluten free and nut free options for my guests who couldn't eat cake or may not like cake. My friends wedding did a beautiful dessert table at their winery wedding, but had a smaller cake (one tiered). That could be an option if you have a tighter budget.

Hi Sare! CONGRATULATIONS on your engagement. If its within your budget go for it if that is what you desire. Me personally at our wedding we are having a Dessert table with 3 different chocolates, ( milk chocolate, Dark chocolate, white chocolate) j4 types of fruits for dipping, possible 5, mini pastries and wedding cake baileys rum cream cake for our 150-160 guest.

Do what you would like most or you could DIY.

    Hoe this helps!
