Destination Bachelorette ( I KNOW)

JPCD, on May 8, 2017 at 7:12 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 65

Updated!

Hello everyone !

Some of my bridal party members have reached out to me about cities I prefer for my bachelorette party. It seems like they are split on a vote and wanted my input.

It seemed like the main debate was New Orleans vs Napa California. However, other cities like Nashville, Charlotte, and Austin have been thrown around as well.

I honestly don't know. I've told them whatever is cheaper or for them to surprise me. However, if anyone here has attended bachelorette (or bachelor) parties at any of these cities (or others you recommend), I'd love to hear your experiences.

What would you all suggest ?

Thanks !

ETA: !!!! I'm an idiot and wrote charlotte instead of Charleston. Charleston is definitely what I meant. (I do that a lot. Sorryyyyy)

I think it totally depends on what kinda vibe you're hoping for, and that's prob why they're having trouble picking! Napa will definitely be more low key and relaxing (prob spa and tastings, nice dinners), whereas you can prob expect not to sleep in New Orleans.

For me, I feel like I never go all out crazy with my friends anymore, so went for the party vibe as a true last hurrah lol.

I think it depends on if you want to relax or party.

Mine is going to be in New Orleans. My MoH booked some rooms at the royal sonesta with a balcony over bourbon st. So excited!

@Celia friends and family. That like to take trips I suppose. It'd be a weekend only. I know someone who's going away for a full week lol

NOLA honestly sounds awesome because of all the culture and great food. I just feel bad because my MoH has been there twice now. So I know she's voting for another location.

I'm located in Maryland, my BM are in NJ.

Bachelorette party will probably be March/April of next year since my wedding is May 2018.

I live in Charlotte, and it is a really fun place.. if you and your girls like breweries this is the spot to come, we have soo many!! Great vibes here, and it is a lot cheaper than most cities. But I went to New Orleans for my bacherlorette and it was amazing, we had a blast... but like people said it is a party city. If you do not want to party this is not the place to go, it smells and everyone is drunk most of the time, but it is a blast. We went during st pattys day so there were a ton of parades which was awesome. It was also super expensive for food and drinks though. I felt bad cause all my bridesmaids were paying for me the entire weekend and it was not cheap!! I kept trying to pay for myself and hey would not let me.

My friend was recently in Nashville. She said bachelorette parties are EVERYWHERE and it is a huge party city. If that's your vibe, go for it. It's not mine, so I would vote Austin or Napa.

I haven't been to either NOLA or Napa but I'd jump at the chance to go to NOLA. Good luck!

I went to NOLA for a bachelorette and was a blast, but non stop party like many others have said. Although we did do a van tour of the city that we got to drink on that was super fun.

Mine was in Charlotte and honestly, I couldn't have asked for better. My BMs are all over the country but this was an easy trip for everyone and was affordable. And SO CUTE. It was definitely low key, we did a few breweries during the day and city center (or whatever it's called) for our big night out.

I don't really think I have a vibe in mind. I'm not into beer and I feel like I don't know enough about wine to warrant a vineyard (although probably beautiful ).

I'm fine with partying lol and with sight seeing.

Austin is great because there are areas of town where you can definitely party (they have some of the best dive bars in my opinion), but there are lots of outdoorsy things, cultural things, great music...it's got a really cool balance. It's one of my favorite cities.

Just throwing this out there, were just doing a beach trip for a weekend. Nothing fancy but for most of us the best thing will be relaxation with no kids. Honestly think of the vibe you want and run with it.

I went to Nashville for my bachelorette and it was awesome. Lots of bars, live music (with no cover), people-watching, etc. One of my BMs told me Nashville is now the #1 spot for bachelorette wknds.

All that being said, pick your weekend wisely. Hotel rates vary greatly week to week. You don't want to be there the weekend of the CMAs, for example, if you are looking for inexpensive but safe hotels. Or, if you want to try your luck watching for big names in country music to be around town, that's the perfect weekend to go, but know that hotels will be $$$.

Same with NOLA. Make sure you know when Mardi Gras, St Paddy's and Jazz Fest are so that you can schedule accordingly. Both are great towns and either would be lots of fun!
