Updated!

Hello everyone !

Some of my bridal party members have reached out to me about cities I prefer for my bachelorette party. It seems like they are split on a vote and wanted my input.

It seemed like the main debate was New Orleans vs Napa California. However, other cities like Nashville, Charlotte, and Austin have been thrown around as well.

I honestly don't know. I've told them whatever is cheaper or for them to surprise me. However, if anyone here has attended bachelorette (or bachelor) parties at any of these cities (or others you recommend), I'd love to hear your experiences.

What would you all suggest ?

Thanks !

ETA: !!!! I'm an idiot and wrote charlotte instead of Charleston. Charleston is definitely what I meant. (I do that a lot. Sorryyyyy)

JPCD, Nashville is awesome!!! There is so much to do, see and hear! We went twice last year and the flight from Baltimore was about 90 minutes. Now, I went with my husband, but we saw plenty of groups having a ball. They have this bike thing that everyone sits around a bar and pedals thru the city. There is someone that works for the company on the bike also........

Personally I would say whatever is cheaper and just stick with that and let them decide!

I went to Nashville for my cousin's bach 2 years ago. We had a blast. If you are a country music fan, that would be my choice hands down.

I have been to NOLA twice and Nashville once for bachelorettes. They are both pretty equal on the price spectrum and both places have an incredible food scene. There are a lot of festivals in March and April in NOLA. I went for Jazz Fest at the end of April four years ago and I highly recommend it if you can afford it. Also for a fun non-drinking activity, I recommend the New Orleans School of Cooking for a cooking class (they do give you beer during your class though...). If your maid of honor is dead set against NOLA, Nashville would be a similar experience. Great music, good food, a lot of opportunities to drink. For Nashville, we stayed in an AirBnB above the Nashville Downtown Hostel (you had to go through the hostel to get to the room but once you were there it was private, with your own bathroom). It was really affordable and in a great location. For NOLA, we recently stayed in an affordable AirBnB on esplanade ave a mile and a quarter from Bourbon St. It was not walkable but Ubers were really cheap. The other time I was in NOLA, 5 of us shared a tiny hotel room with 2 queens.

Thanks everyone! The funny thing is im pretty sure none of us listen to country music haha I just saw it as a city that's popular for bachelorette parties.

Any inexpensive Florida or other beach towns ?

My girls took me to Nashville for the weekend. We did AirBNB and had THE BEST time ever.

Chiming in that New Orleans is so perfect for bachelorette parties!! It's super walkable, the lack of an open container law is amazing, and there's so much to do between bars, tourist attractions, and things like ghost tours! It's also a popular place for bachelorette parties and friend trips, so the restaurants there are pretty good with accommodating big groups.

I haven't been to Nashville for a bachelorette yet but I heard it's really fun. Austin can be expensive to fly into, but you'd have amazing food and can barhop up and down 6th street and Rainey St!

I've also done a Chicago bachelorette which was really fun and relatively cheap, Vegas, and Charleston (rent a beach house and go out at night).

I think Nashville would be so fun. There's tons of nightlife, but also plenty of unique things to do and see during the day.

Hello! MD girl here who has lived in Charlotte since graduating college 10 years ago. Charlotte is a great city, I love living here, but it's not really a bachelorette city. The brewery scene in the last few years has really taken away from the uptown nightlife. There was actually an article in a daily newsletter about it this week, how bars are hurting because everyone goes to breweries now. If you're not a beer girl, I'd go elsewhere!

My fiancé just went to Nashville for his bachelor party and loved it. He saw a ton of bachelorette parties there. I've been once but several years ago and I'm dying to go back!!

Savannah and charleston, SC are also amazing cities for bachelorette parties!

I'm boring. My idea of a great party would be a weekend getaway at some luxury spa in the mountains.

I live in Charlotte. I threw my friend's bachelorette here (she's from Beaufort). She had fun. But she's not much of a drinker so we didn't go too hard.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE NOLA, and also like Napa, but it really depends on what you and your girls want out of your time there. The time of the year will also play a part.

*Disclaimer: I've never been to the others, so I'm a little biased I guess.

Just popping in to say Charleston is super fun and it's not too far from MD. (Not as far as the other cities anyway). My BMs are taking me on a surprise bachelorette next weekend and I have a strong suspicion that it's going to be in Charleston! The downtown area has many bars and good food. I think the city is also very picturesque. That's my vote and if I do end up going there I'll let ya know how it goes! Smiley smile
