Destination Bachelorette Parties

Private User, on February 10, 2014 at 9:26 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 16

Good morning everyone! I'm a MOH for a wedding this August and am planning a destination bachelorette party! The bride wants to go to Montego Bay, Punta Cana, or the Bahamas. Anyone have any resort suggestions? We want a really fun, affordable resort near local bars and shopping. Thank you!

Atlantis in the Bahamas. If you can afford it- the Cove hotel. It has the only adult pool in the property and you can only go in there if you are staying there. I love it! So beautiful.

Careful with the Sky Juice. Tasty and dangerous!

Thank you Kat! Is the Atlantis an all-inclusive resort? I apologize but I should have noted this in my original post. Thank you!

Before you plan, is everyone on board for this? Are the bridesmaids, close friends, etc, able to afford the trip? A destination bachelorette is a huge financial imposition, particularly to go overseas and stay at a resort.

I believe Atlantis can be. You would buy meal and drink packages and you take them where ever on the resort. I went for a work trip and they gave us meal cards which we could use anywhere on the property. Drinks were not included but I spoke to some other patrons of the resort and said they had a drink package w there meal package.

Staying at Atlantis, especially the cove can be $500 plus a night not including food.

The last few times we went to Atlantis (I've been 5-6 times) we have rented a space at the harbor side. It's their version of time shares. When people don't want to go to their time share they can sell their week that year. We stayed in a 2 bedroom, plus fold out couch room (that held 8 people) for like $1800 which is a great deal for Atlantis. It also had a kitchen. That might be something to look into. You don't get the adults only pool the cove has, but it's still a great trip.

What's the budget per person? It's hard to give recommendations without knowing that info.

Per day? Or the whole weekend? If it's for the whole weekend and all inclusive, Atlantis is out. Sorry Smiley sad

Check out TripAdvisor.com you can find smaller hotels that are well rated and save tons of money. We stayed at the cutest 3 room hotel for our honeymoon in Cozumel and it was way nicer than the big hotels but much more affordable.
