Destination brides: marriage licenses

It all depends on the country you're getting married in. Check with the State Department to make sure.

Ours is out of state not country, but we decided to get the license in our home state before. Looking at their laws we decided it was easier to do here. I would just check their laws and see what you think is easier.

From what I’ve heard, a lot of people that get married out of country actually get married before they leave. We got married in our home state, but I did briefly look Into a destination wedding. It would probably depend on what country you are looking to get married in.

We're not technically out of country but we'll be getting married at home about a month ahead of time to make everything easier.

My first marriage was in Jamaica which was legal in the states and they mailed the marriage license a couple months later. I had to fill out paperwork through the resort, scan mine and finances birth certificates to email and give our fathers full names ( I'm assuming to make sure we weren't related) You can talk to the resort where you're staying to ask.
