I wouldn’t make it anymore than 1-2 weeks before your venue needs final count. There will still be some people that won’t have a decision two months out so I’d be prepared for some people to be unsure or say yes and then back out. We had friends who had a DW wedding two years ago and 4 people said yes, put deposits down on rooms and everything, and 2 weeks before the wedding said “sorry couldn’t make it work”.

Typically, you want to put 1-2 weeks prior to when your venue needs a final guest count, But that seems really early for them to need a final guest count. The concern I would have is that some guests might not be able to give an exact answer and might back out as a result.

65 days is 9 weeks out. That is typically when invitations are sent, not when replies are due. Many people cannot tell you prior to 4 weeks out if they are granted time off. Give yourself a week or two of cushion time following the reply due date to track people down prior to giving the venue the final count. Just hope that no one loses or forgets your date.
