Destination Wedding and Couples Shower question

Hi Everyone,


Right now fiancé and I are leaning towards a destination wedding in a different state. All of our family and friends live in Texas. We are thinking of inviting everyone to the wedding that we would have normally invited if it was a local wedding. We don’t want any hurt feelings and would actually love it if everyone could make it. We have approximately 150 on our guest list right now, but realistically we know everyone will not be able to go. We are guesstimating it will be around 40-75 people total. My question is, since we know not all of our aunts/uncles and friends will be able to make it, but will still be getting an invitation to the wedding, is it okay to have a larger local couples shower so we still get to celebrate with them? (We will not be hosting our own couples shower obvi, but already have had some people asking about it, so I wanted to get some thoughts).
